Major League Baseball Inaugural Draft.

Today the new Major League Baseball held its first official function and completed the first rounds of its inaugural draft. The San Francisco Gold had the first pick and took 33 year old war veteran Ted Williams, LF. The second pick was by the Philadelphia Flyers who took 30 year old Starting Pitcher Dave Pope. The draft is scheduled to be completed in the next couple of days and the players are scheduled to report to spring training early in 1952.
