This is all speculation of course, and the more I think it through the more i think it's unlikely we're going to hear definitive info from OOTPD about this, but if anything player "likenesses" (which I guess in Japan must extend to statistical history, which it most certainly does not in the USA) are if anything a higher priority than the league or team names.
