September 1912: Chicago and Cambridge

Two good races this year came down to the wire. The Chicago Firemen in only their second winning season won the Wheaton League, edging out recent champions, St. Louis and New Orleans.

But the better race was in the Cartwright League where it came down to the final day of the season with Cambridge holding a 1 game lead over charging Worcester. Dick Rudolph won it for the Schooners, sending them back to the Series for the 5th time. They are still looking for their first championship.
