OK, I tested it a little more, with plain, curved, swash, etc. All worked fine. When I set the boarder width to zero, fine. When I set the color to transparent on the boarder colors, then I can't modify the text ( I type, then nothing happens). If I switch from plain to arced, etc, then the text disappears and I have to reload.
So, It seems setting any wordmark color to transparent sets everything out of whack. Easy to work around though.
I guess if you are not seeing it, and no one else has complained, it must be something on my end
