I'm not interested in using the OOTP forums to have a meta discussion about the ethics of AI or the minutia of copyright law, but from a purely practical standpoint, it's a fun tool for people who play extremely text-heavy games to be able to contextualize their sims over a period of time.
In that way, OOTP even surpasses FM, which doesn't do as good a job producing text copy and portable data whereas OOTP is extremely dexterous in that way.

The box score pasted was impressive to me as I was worried about losing the formatting on the paste. It does even better with the Game Summary added on too.
Now, imagine it with access to everything in all the .dat files from the almanac to the player stats past and present, league macro scoring and statistical trends and team records, player personalities, clubhouse situations, team financial predicaments, team needs, upcoming free agents. All that is sitting in the game. Not easy to paste into ChatGPT. But there. Just waiting to be built in some sort of Meta open-source LLaMA for commercial applications along with a and Microsoft-powered local and custom AI. Or so I like to dream... because man, everyone seems in a rush to do something with in in a commercial way. At some point, it will be the norm, just a matter of when, I reckon.
