 In the bottom of the first, the Senators loaded the bases with one out. Foster brought Grady home with a sacrifice fly.
 
 In the top of the second, the Orioles loaded the bases with nobody out. Hart tied the game with a sacrifice fly. The Orioles reloaded the bases with two out. Brodie put the Orioles in the lead with a run-scoring single but Bresnahan was thrown out at home by Dungan trying to score from second to retire the side.
 
 In the bottom of the third, Foster tied the game with an RBI single.
 
 After three: Baltimore 2 Washington 2.
 
 In the top of the fourth, an RBI double by Howell put the Orioles back in front. The Orioles went on to load the bases with one out. Howell then scored from third on a balk. Donlin then hit a two-run triple.
 
 In the bottom of the fourth, Dungan tried to get the Senators back in the game with a two-out RBI double.
 
 In the bottom of the fifth, Foster scored from third when Williams mishandled a Clingman grounder. Clingman would injure his back breaking up a double play but he remained in the game. Farrell scored from third with two out on a passed ball to make it a one-run game.
 
 In the top of the sixth, Donlin led off with his second triple of the game to set an AL record. Williams brought Donlin home with his own triple. But Foster would throw Williams out at home after he tagged up and tried to score on a Keister flyout.
 
 After six: Baltimore 7 Washington 5.
 
 In the bottom of the seventh, Foster led off with an inside-the-park home run. Farrell scored from second to tie the game when Williams made a bad throw on a Clingman grounder. Mercer then gave the Senators the lead with a two-out RBI single.
 
 In the top of the ninth, trailing by one, the Orioles went down in order to end the game.
 
 The Orioles recorded 12 hits in the contest and the two teams combined for 9 errors and 8 hit batters.
 
 Final score: Washington 8 Baltimore 7.
