Today is the second game in the series in Chicago between the Orphans and the Cincinnati Reds. The Orphans dominated the Reds in first game of the series.

The Orphans signed free agent RP Patsy Flaherty to a 1-year contract worth a total of $462.

In the bottom of the fourth, Green put the Orphans on the board with an RBI double. Dexter brought Green home with a single.

In the bottom of the fifth, Kling delivered a game-tying RBI triple. Dolan brought Kling home with a sacrifice fly.

After six: Chicago 4 Cincinnati 3.

In the bottom of the seventh, Hartsel got a run-scoring single.

In the top of the eighth, Peitz scored from third when Magoon grounded to second. Steinfeldt tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

In the top of the ninth, Beckley's second triple of the game brought home the go-ahead run.

In the bottom of the ninth, trailing by one, the Orphans went down in order to end the game.

The Orphans collected 10 hits in the loss.
