There were some of these last year, but it seems there's even more this year that are not really even close. Plays where the runner clearly beats the throw to the base, but he's called out all the same. You could say, well, its a bang-bang play or the umpire just missed it. But we live in the age of instant replay now, and if it could be cleaned up a little it would help with the immersion. There are many plays at 2nd base when the runner is coming up out of his slide when the ball arrives and is still called out.
