2014 CLB Hall of Fame
For the second time in three years, Chinese League Baseball had a blank Hall of Fame ballot. The closest to the 66% cut in 2014 was SP Xin Ruan with 61.9% on his fifth try. RF Hongbo Wan was next with a 60.3% fourth ballot, followed by closer Chiang-Ho Yang with a 58.7% fifth ballot. LF Seok-Hyeon So was the best debut at 56.5%. LF Ruilong Xu also crossed the halfway mark at 50.5% for his sixth ballot.

The lone player dropped after ten ballots was closer Zhuoyi Chen, who had a nine-year run as Changsha’s closer. He led in saves twice and won two Reliever of the Year awards, finishing with 259 saves and 367 shutdowns, 1.66 ERA, 742 innings, 1024 strikeouts, 1442 ERA+, and 21.5 WAR. Chen was also part of the Cannons’ 1997 championship squad. He just didn’t have the longevity, peaking at 32.8% in 2006 and ending in 2014 at only 5.4%.
