This thread is like striking gold. I had to use Google Search repeatedly to find it again.*
The links to Matt's Dropbox files still work, and I see that this is part of the Mods forums that are being brought forward now to OOTP 26. So, there is a chance that this post will be seen.
First, my thanks to
Matt once again for having posted this in the first place. This time, I have downloaded AND saved these spreadsheet files. (I neglected to do the latter last year.)
Second,
pstrickert, will you see this and respond? Per your request, I am reporting this error; the second name reference is incorrect:

You want us to "please report typos so we can fix them for everyone" and I certainly want the same. But here is the situation: I am still on OOTP 25 and probably will be for the foreseeable future. Hence I cannot rely on your fixes for OOTP 26.
So, if I post what I find, which may gain momentum because I am playing the
heck out of OOTP 25 now that I have committed to it long-term, will you answer some hopefully quick questions?
Such as this. I found the entry (yellow highlight) in storylines_english.xml:

Am I correct in saying the error is in the second "%personname#1" and that it should have been "%personname#2" as in similar messages in which a manager has a comment to make (e.g., green highlight)?
And one auxiliary question: Are these XML entries all hard-coded someplace, so that the game knows "%personname#1" is the player and "%personname#2" is the manager just from having picked a certain player to apply the circumstance to? That is, the first person is the player and the second person is his manager? That's what has me head scratching — how does the XML file know whom we are talking about from these generic codes?
I am not asking for a tutorial. As a matter of fact, I have put together a document from the In-Game Text section of the defunct online manual. I just need a few details cleared up . . . in exchange for future typo reporting?

EDIT: All right, all right, stop laughing. I saw, after I posted this and went back out to the forum, that this thread was stickied. Well, good!
