Importing game from OOTP16

I'm just in my second year of playing OOTP and wanted to import my game from Ver 16. I had it set up just the way I wanted. When I used the "import game" on the start screen it seemed that a lot of stuff is different, skins, colors, stadiums. Is there a global import so that the small stuff is identical. Is there something else that I am supposed to do? Players, teams, stats, history all imported fine. Thanks

I'm an old OOTP hand and I'm having similar problems importing a long-running game from OOTP16. Whatever info I find out I'll certainly pass along to you!

The ballparks never import, at least not the ballpark images (coordinates should come over fine). You can manually copy the ballparks from your 16 install folder and that might just work, but you might have to manually reassign park images.

Thanks for the reply, I had assumed that ballparks would have to be manually moved as in previous versions but, like the original poster, it's also logos, uniforms, news items etc that I can't transfer.

Any thing custom will have to be moved manually from 16 to 17 but the locations should be the same so once you move the files to the OOTP 17 folder everything should already be assigned.

You might try to move them first so that when OOTP17 goes to look for them, they're already there and it doesn't try to "fix" it by assigning default teams.

nathanaz, FWIW I'm going to uninstall/re-install my OOTP17 later today and see if that makes a difference to importing the OOTP16 game. At least one other player has said that it worked for him. I'll let you know.

nathanaz (and anyone else), I uninstalled then reinstalled OOTP17 and the import of my saved game went perfectly.....logos, uniforms, news items etc. Just need to manually move or copy ballpark images from OOTP16. Hope this helps.

Glad it worked and that I was able to help. When I first joined the OOTP community a lot of people patiently answered my questions so it's nice to be able to contribute! Hope you have as much fun as I've had with this grand game.
