Fantasy Team in Historical League

Debating whether to get the game. I'll probably do it anyways, but I was wondering whether it would be able to handle the following situation.

I want to take a normal MLB start in a given year... say 2010. All of the rosters stay the same except for one. That team I would like to populate with some of my favorite players from history. They don't have to be stars. They just happen to be players who I may have thought were "cool" when I was growing up many years ago as a little kid.

Is something like this possible?

Spritz,

That is awesome news. I already purchased the game and for the life of me cannot figure out how to do that. Can you please start me down the right path?

Thanks

To import players go to the Free Agent screen, available actions, Import historical players. When the screen opens select the database you want to draw from it sould be in the \Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 17\stats folder

the game uses the first 5 letters of the players last name and the first 2 of his first name plus a number identification

so to import Joe DiMaggio it would = dimagjo01

the number at the end identifies players with the same letter designation by order of appearance in Baseball History

So Bob W Jones 3B who played for the Detroit Tigers from 1917-1925 would be Jonesbo01 but Bob J Jones who was a SP for the Mets and Padres between 1993 and 2003 would be jonesbo03 (LF Bob O Jones 1974-85 is jonesbo02)

Pick a year of the players career to import him from, this will certainly affect his age. Select the parameters for import and hit import player(s), if successful he will go to the FA pool. Then it's a simple matter of going to the player card editing and placing him on the appropriate team.

If your unsure of a players ID you can load a historical season and go look at the player in the editor and see what it is. There are probably easier faster ways to get the information, but that's the basics and the way I do it. Maybe someone else can chime in with an easier/faster way
