I'm an idiot...

I like to do Manual All Star voting in my fictional league so that I can control who is truly worthy of being there.

Well I forgot to include my elite, best in the majors, surefire hall of famer, three time triple crown winning ace pitcher who absolutely deserved to be there.

Problem is, my backup is like a month old in game time, so I have to choose which is more important to me: a month of my entire league;s history or one hiccup to a player who will go down in the history of my league like the pitching version of Babe Ruth.

Aaaagh!!

If you don't want to replay the month you can chalk it up to the story line. Sometimes odd snubs happen.

Pretend he sat out the All-Star game because the President was there. That's the "in" thing now anyway.

Yes, this is my opinion as well, RP. You have to do one of two things: Revert back to your backup and give up a month's worth of history OR write a news article explaining your SP's absence from the A-S game.

Because, if you are like me, that flub is going to haunt you every time you look over your league's history.

My choice, if I were you? Write the article. Reason is, the month's "alternate history" is going to bother you as well. Not as much as your unintended snub, but you are going to view that month as some sort of weird parallel universe history.

Yeah both bother me so much. I'm probably going to pick keeping the month as is, simply because I do pitch-by-pitch and I don't feel like replaying a whole month of baseball

For my have to go with this idea. As mentioned, both are going to gnaw at you a bit, but I always defer to the 'if it happens in the game, it's a part of the game' philosophy. Make it work somehow. Always avoid looking back at anything thinking it's only 'that' way because I intervened. Years ago, I remember an incident, vaguely, wherein I felt a player should not have the personality trait he was assigned. Bugged me and bugged me, and finally made the adjustment, then promptly deducted $500K from cash to pay for his coaching development so at least the offset was in place to mitigate any later guilt.

I didn't have a ton of time to go into great detail, but I figured out one reason to use...

Are those stats all "factual"? If so, then that is very good indeed.

They are! I mean, he's still pitching unbelievably, but still, I found a reason for him to take time off

The community has come to your aid in a moment of crisis, Rosco Peabody, and I think we did a darned good job of it.
