Random plus Minors
Can I start a random debut league utilizing all of the players in the minor league database combined with the regular MLB players?
I want to do this because it makes the player pool and possibilities in a random debut season much greater. Thanks |

No, random debut doesn't include the minor league database.

Personally I am waiting on next patch. If it goes well I'll have a file up within the day that will allow for very flexible creation of draft files for import that are basically random. In a 24 team league you would have enough players for 40-60 rounds over the course of 100 seasons. Been racticing with a 25 round draft using the database and it works well... just have a small injury issue that the patch will correct. That will set all players at around 18 years old for the draft.

Above link gives you a Master File including the Minor League databse. First two fields for players you want to be imported need to be copied into a csv file (can paste in excel and save that in csv format). By default I have it split into 100 groups, but you could renumber the sort field anything from 80 to 120 and prob not notice in player talent. So, you have your csv file... from there it is just a couple in game steps... Go to Free Agent screen and use right drop down to import historical free agents. Go to your draft pool when it generates in game and delete all players it generated. Ensure Include Minor League database is checked, and import players to draft pool is checked Click the select file button and navigate to the csv file you just created. Make sure settings are what you want and import away (I typically change 3YR ratings to Career). Everyone in that file should now be in your pool at the age they made their first professional appearance.

Oh yeah... why I am waiting for the patch...
That file will have a lot of guys playing their first year in the minors at rookie level. It is not uncommon for them to only have 30 or so innings pitched or 100+ at bats. Currently these guys will all import as Fragile due to not enough playing time (engine assumes it was injury related). That can be a huge issue. Next patch that may no longer be the case... we;ll see
