Clock Watchdog Timeout

Hi Chaps,

I have been getting a BSOD while playing OOTP 25 with the error code Clock Watchdog Timeout.

This has only happened when I am in a 3D simulation and typically if I am not currently giving the game any attention - for example if I have left the game open to go and do something else.

It has now happened 4 or 5 times. It has never happened before with any other program or game and happened the first time I played OOTP 25 and has happened on various occasions since.

Firstly, I don't know what the error code means (googled it and it's double Dutch to me) and secondly I don't know if it's a problem with my system or OOTP.

Processor is this: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz

32GB Ram

Any help much appreciated.

I have not seen this before, so a little hard to say offhand what might be going on.

Can you post a screenshot of the error?

Oh, that's a Windows system error, not an OOTP error

From what I can see from a Google search, it seems this can sometimes come from corrupt system files.

You'll probably want to do a Google search yourself and check on some of the possible solutions there, as from what I can see I do not this this is an OOTP specific error.

One thing to do just in case I'm wrong there, would be to turn on trace mode, and if this happens again, post the resulting trace file for us to check out. There may be something in there that could be of use.

Thanks again Lukas - I thought that may be the issue. Weirdly, it's only happening with OOTP and with no other symptoms so thought it might be OOTP based.

I'll see what I can figure out.
