international complex?

So I'm fooling around with a 1930 historical league with minors, moving around some players. I go to move a guy named Joe Bowman from Portland (PCL) to Omaha (Western Lg) and I notice that - unlike many other players whom I've moved from one team to another - on the player Editor panel, below "Team Information, Select new Team" I see a button to "Move to Portland Beaver International Complex." I'm thinking that's weird, as I've done nothing that I know of to enable Int'l Complex. So I move him anyway to Omaha, and lo-and-behold the button is still there, but now it reads " Move to Omaha Packers International Complex."

Scrolling through pretty much all players on both Portland and Omaha, and some random players on other teams, I'm not finding anyone else with the option on their editor panel. Any idea what's going on here?

(I'm tempted to click the button to see what happens, but I don't want the guy to disappear into an Int'l Complex that might not exist in my game...)

Make a copy of the player and send the clone

In a copy of the game I clicked on the button and sent him to the Int'l Complex. Now his record on his Editor panel no longer has a button to send him to the Complex. If I go to the team page, he's not on either the active roster or the reserve roster from the Overview panel, but if I go to Roster and select Entire Organization, he's there...

Right-clicking on him gives the option to promote him to the reserve roster. If If I do that, he appears on the reserve roster, and right-clicking again does not include an option to put him back on the Int'l Complex, but if I go back to the Editor, that button reappears.

And it doesn't matter what team he's on; he'll still have that button in the Editor. For example, just changed his team to Wichita of the Western League, which is an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. So now the button shows "Move to Pittsburgh Pirates International Complex."

So it seems to be something associated with this particular player that is allowing assignment to the I.C. No clue what it is, though...

Just curious, but is there anything in Joe Bowman's bio that suggests that he would be an international signing?

Nothing that I can tell. This is a game that just started. 1930 historical w minors, w/o financials, no development or anything like that. The same way I pretty much always play. He's just another run-of-the-mill player. Born in USA. Nothing remarkable about him.
