Using database tools to manage Rosters

Please help!

I have attempted to utilize the available tools (CSV dumps, Roster Exports) to manage rosters and the data exported by these tools is just not sufficient for me to prioritize players by position, ML vs AAA, etc. For some reason the roster export provides ratings for the players but the formats are unclear... (my rating system is 20-80, yet some players have 144)... In addition, it is not clear which scout the ratings pertain to... I would like to be able evaluate players based on the ratings given by certain scouts, or group of scouts (by averaging the ratings), etc... Finally, the field list does not include the key ratings but rather show up as vL or vR. For example the contact rating is provided only as Contact v R or Contact v L... while I need to see just Contact... Ultimately I would like to utilize the available data that is present in the game and develop my own evaluation system, without having to manually input key data into Excel... was hoping the CSV dump would contain the data I need... Maybe there is a mod out there that does exactly what I am asking... any help is greatly appreciated...

I believe the dumps contain the REAL ratings of the player... so your scouts may be wrong about him, but the csv dump is not. The true ratings run on a 1-250 scale.

That's about all I can say. Contact vsR and vsL make a difference, you wouldn't want a guy in against righties when he can't hit them just because his overall contact rating is great... so not sure why that's a bad thing.

ok.. appreciate it... didnt know the dump is actual ratings... here is what i am really trying to do and that is to manage my roster on the ml level and the minor league levels in terms of placing the right players at the right leves/positions, creating a depth chart, etc... and I would like to do this by creating my own set of analytics (basically a combination of ratings, stats, etc..). Of course this is impossible to do within the game itself... but i was hoping that if i could actually export the data into a spreadsheet then i can manipulate the data as I see fit... one feature that does come close is the write to disk option, however if only this wrote to a csv file or txt file... then I would be golden... but instead it writes to an html file... are there any mods/util out there that may help me accomplish this...

Larry Anderson (Comedian) is our resident genius for writing utilities and really knows these csv files inside and out. See if you can reach him hanging out around the mod forum. He does all of the fantastic Anderson Utilities or AU stuff you see around here.
