Busy man today.

Added Bulk team changes.

What is that? Good question.

You select a team, MLB or Minor league team, add a line of history to the history line, pick the date you want it inserted at and click on BULK CHANGES - TEAM CHANGES and it will add that line to everybody on the team.

Wow, why would I do that?

Well, let's say you hired a new hitting scout, or a new team doctor, or you set the manager to 'ON VACATION', well, the player's history will now show that. You can quickly add the same history line to every player on a given team.

Updated the program this morning.

New Feature: Remove Duplicate Items - This will search through everyone's history and remove any items that are duplicated. (Same date, same event)

New Feature: Remove duplicate will also allow you to repair any invalid dates. An early version of my 6XHistory2006 caused some dates to not have months. This will allow you to correct the dates.

I really want to add this option to AUHISTORY2.

This is one of those things you run every so often, it will add random events to the player's history files. Stuff that happens in the off season, trade rumors, drug use rumors, DUI arrests, divorces, marriages, kids born, etc.

The way it will work is there will be a file that contains all of the random stuff, one that you can easily modify.

Each line in the file contains the following:

1,0,"Arrested for DUI."

1,0,"Arrested for DUI.", meaning the changes of it happening. If there are 1000 items in the list, this one will have a 1-1000 chance of happening.

1,2,"Arrested for DUI.", the month that this event is going to happen. So, this way you can have things happen 'during the off season' or, in a certain month.

(Slipped and fell on ice - sprained ankle. Make this in January, and it will not be out of context with the league)
(Cut hand wrapping Christmas presents - Make this in December.)

If you leave the month as 0, then it will randomly pick a month, but only a month and day lower than the league month and day.

1,0,"Arrested for DUI." This history item.

The idea is to have a bunch (at least a 1000, I hope), of those off the wall type things to spice up the history. Nothing like murder, rape or stuff like that, but minor arrests, other stuff, even stuff like 'buying large house', made cover of Sports Illustrated, use some creativity.

Post them here and I will gather them up. Don't just post one, post at least 5, so we can get a collection going.

The way the program would work, is you set the freq. factor, anotherwords, on a 1-100 scale, you set it at 2 percent. So, only 2 percent of all the players in the league will be effected. The program will also allow you to choose between infecting minor leagues players only, MLB league players only or all players.

You will also have the ability to 'approve all new historys' or 'just do it'. This will allow you to control what events were assigned.

Of course, you can always modify the history later.

One other option is just a 'random player grab'. This will just grab a random player and let you add a quick line of history that you can type in.

Added new function:

This will add every player's highest streak that ENDED to their history file in the correct date location.

I.E.

19560719 56 game hitting streak ended. 4-5-1956 through 6-7-1956.

It will add the streak under these conditions:

If the streak is NOT already in the history file.
If the streak is NOT active.
If the streak has great values than this:

Hitting - 19
Run Scored - 9
Home runs - 4
RBIS - 8
Saves - 39
Winning - 9
Losing -9
Undefeated - 14

NOTE: If a player has a 30 game hitting streak that ended and later on he gets a 25, the 25 will not be listed. If however he passes the 30, it will then add the new streak and leave the old streak in. So, if you run it each year it could show multiple streaks in his history.

This can be ran at any time of the season and will update accordingly.

I think this is a cool one.

Exactly...

Things that just make the history look 'cooler', gives it a more real look instead of the geeky numbers only look.

Got a few questions

1. I opened the program and loaded the league that started in 1977, current date in my league is 8/22/1977, date that the program shows is 9/2006.

2. Tried to add streaks and none are showing anywhere

3. Did a csv dump

4. I am using AUStreak and after i used this program I went to the streak program and it said I need to do a CSV dump, went bak to the game did a bran new CSV dump opened Streak and it tells me I have to do a CSV dump, Click on the message and run the program and it works anyway

Yes, that is possible. The dumps do not include the date of the league. There is no where to get this information. Closest I can get is searching the game schedule file and find the last game that was not played, but that is not very accurate.

2. Tried to add streaks and none are showing anywhere

It will only add streaks that are over and meet the requirements, i.e. 20+ game hitting, 40+ saves, etc.

3. Did a csv dump

4. I am using AUStreak and after i used this program I went to the streak program and it said I need to do a CSV dump, went bak to the game did a bran new CSV dump opened Streak and it tells me I have to do a CSV dump, Click on the message and run the program and it works anyway

It will do that if you switch leagues and do not restart it.

Unless you're in Australia, of course.

This is awesome stuff, as usual, and makes the game come alive. Thank you.

As for the current league date thing, could you add a user prompt to the program? Then, when you run it, it will use that date as the current date.
