Owner Budget trouble

It's the offseason in my league and free agency just started and I turned off the owner controlled budget because it won't allow me to sign even bench guys because I'm right at his budget. Anyways, it' still giving me a message that my owner doesn't approve of my deal. How can I fix that??

Either you go into Commissioner mode which allows you to bypass budget or you trade players with high contracts. I don't suggest going into commissioner mode if you want a harder challenge. Play the game how you like. If you want to spend like the Yankees, then go into commissioner mode.

Otherwise, trade players away with big contracts and plan ahead to not go over the budget.

I want to play the game with a challenge, but in real life the Tigers budget is higher and I can't even sign a reliever. I wouldn't go overboard, just want to be able to a bit over the budget. I'm staying as realistic as possible,

Is there any other way to turn off the budget? I still can't make a trade because I'm over. I'm not even close to the Tigers real payroll either.

Well then I suggest just going into Commissioner mode. If you want to stay level with the actual Tigers payroll, then do that.

I did go into Commissioner Mode, the problem now is that I can't make any trades because I'm over the budget. It's quite frustrating, because I;m not going nuts, in fact I'm letting Max and VMart walk. I just want to try and make some trades but it won't let me because I'm "over budget" (even in Commish mode) and I don't want to force trades because I want the realistic setting of negotiating the deals.

Think I got it, go into Commish mode and edit your budget fit the Tigers model. I don't even really get why the owner controls the budget is an option in game settings because it really did nothing for me
