Almanac question

Do you have to be connected to the internet for the almanac to work? I was trying out some things in a test league and whenever I tried to access the almanac (after it had been created on dec 31), the game kept trying to connect online (I was offline). Even when I did connect I got the "hmm we cant seem to reach that page" message. In my last version of the game (OOTP16), you didn't need to be online for the almanac to work. Am I missing something?

If you run ootp as administrator and then try, does it work?

When the game creates the almanac, it should be generating a number of HTML files (in the directory .../saved_games/GAME.lg/news). You should be able to open the almanac index with your web browser; going to the directory and clicking on index.html should work.

I have never used the in-game almanac menu, and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me (though I am currently online).

Ah yes Running as administrator makes it work properly. Thanks a bunch

There was something strange with the way the last version installed that messed up a lot of the export stuff. It seems to be fixed in the new patch today.

I wonder if this explains why I was having html issues with certain things in my almanac.
