Can't help but laugh

I'm sure others can relate and this is not a rant or complaint...

So I've been slowly but steadily improving my team and really focusing on pitching and finally won my first championship at the Stone Level last week. I know it's nothing for all your experts but I have completely rebuilt my team with new players and trying out new strategies and line-ups.

This has been a busy work week and tonight was the first time I've logged on since Saturday, so me winning the Championship was a surprise, and I'm getting absolutely pummeled in the Iron League and am most likely going to be regulated by to Stone this weekend. How is it that I can win 100 games and a Championship at one level and not even be the least bit competitive at the next?

Anyways, can't help but laugh I guess.

The teams you're facing are in three categories:

1. The best teams from last week's Stone level, the ones that were also promoted.
2. The teams that did well enough in last week's Iron level to stay there, but not well enough to be promoted.
3. Teams from last week's Bronze level that failed and were relegated to Iron level this week.

You're now faced with tougher competition, especially the third group, who were two levels above you last week. The first group is theoretically about as good as your team. The second group will vary from just holding on at Iron level (your team might already be better) to just missed being promoted to Bronze (your team is probably not as good).

Especially at the lower levels, there is a lot of fluctuation in team quality from week to week, and there are many improvements to be made. Every team in Iron will be adding new talent through card pulls and mission completion. The bad news is that your team will get progressively worse in relation to the competition if you don't also improve. The good news is that improvements are far easier to come by in Iron level.

Start by taking a look at the best teams in your league. They have probably finished a lot of or all BAL missions and are running 100 Mauer, McCovey, Morgan, Boggs, Ashburn, and Walker. They will have more than the Live Series toppers (like Fernandez and Dickey) on the mound. Many will have 100 Brown, Blue, and Papelbon, plus some other 100 pitchers to round it out.

Finish the BAL missions as a major step into the middle ranks of Perfect Team, and replace any and all Live cards on your roster with Historical cards. Live cards, with very few exceptions, aren't competitive in the middle to upper ranks. In general, keep looking for improvements, because most of your competition will be doing that. All movement is relative.

Thanks for the tips...I'll be honest I have completed a single mission all year as I got burnt out in last year's version. I'll give it another go as I have a little over 100k points.

Got a chuckle myself that you were too busy to manage your team only to find out later it won the championship. I love to micromanage but I have had to scratch my head more than a few times when my team does better without my help! (sometimes).

I’m the exact same as you. Got burnt out completing missions last year, so I made it a point not to do a single one this year.

I'm at the point where I'm looking to improve through card pulls and spending PP in the Card Shop. There are just so many mission trees with a reward that's so far away.
