Commissioner Role

I would like to set myself as Commissioner of my league for the sole purpose of having the option to unretire players that I feel are retiring too early. Not knowing much about this game yet, is that possible? Or will the game require other tasks from me? I want to manage my team and let the computer handle everything else. I just want to be able to un-retire players I feel are leaving too early (excluding real retirement date).
