Question about "result" field in "Players_at_bat_batting_stats" table

I'm hoping someone will know this I'm looking for a clarification of the "result" field in the "Players_at_bat_batting_stats" field It seems to have values of numbers bewteen 1-11. Looking up a game log shows me that the value 1 might correspond to a single but I would like to get some definitive information. Hopefully Markus, or Andreas will see this. Thanks Oh, I was trying to come up with a database query that will eventually give me player's career stats vs teams and/or pitchers with this. Thanks
