Currently Available Teams:
Seoul Crushers

The LRS is a 12-team fictional league in its eleventh year of play and eighth year as a human-run league. All franchises with the exception of Seoul are located in Japan. We have been fortunate to attract a quality group of friendly, competitive, active owners. We're always interested in getting to know more like-minded individuals with an interest in joining in our fun and would love to hear from you.

We seek unique individuals who aren't afraid to challenge themselves. Most people come to online leagues looking for the typical North American baseball experience, but it takes a special kind of player to try something different. The LRS brand of baseball is certainly a different baseball environment. Our members have found it to be an extremely rewarding environment, as well. Now you can find out why for yourself!

We also look for the kind of person who views an online league as an opportunity not just to compete but to socialize and share with a group of passionate baseball nuts. If you enjoy being active in forums, you're likely a great fit. The LRS places an emphasis on writing contributions, as well. The amazing stories our creative owners come up with really help bring our fictional players to life! You don't have to be Shakespeare, but if you like exercising your brain as part of your online baseball experience then you've found the right league.

Creating an immersive and highly entertaining fictional baseball environment is the primary goal of the LRS. We welcome any owner who would enjoy contributing to that goal regardless of their experience level. If you're an enthusiastic OOTP newbie or a seasoned vet looking for a friendly new group of people to compete against, the LRS may be the perfect landing spot for you!

The LRS is really a great place for GM's who think they've got it all figured out. The sister league of the PEBA has some unique challenges that make it a perfect place to prove your mettle. Not only that, but the small number of GM's in the LRS mean that you'll get to know your competitors in a more intimate setting. Feel like your other online leagues leave you a bit of an anonymous cog? Not in the LRS! The larger community of the league, with 36 GM's across both leagues means you get to experience a dynamic and active atmosphere with all the benefits of a more tightly knit LRS focus.

Miss the LRS, because of time and such had to leave but if you want a league were you can get lost in a fictional world but it still seems real then this is the league for you. Been in a few leagues and some great leagues but the LRS is up there with any of them, best stop typing or I'll be shedding a tear over the Karaoke King

Ghosts Need GM

The Niihama-Shi Ghosts are currently in need of a QUALITY General Manager.

The Ghosts are on their way to a second straight playoff appearance, and the organization has emerged from a rebuilding process stronger than ever. This is a financially sound organization, and a new GM will be stepping into a good situation.

We are NOT an export only league. Please take the time to visit our website and forums, and also take the time to read our Constitution before deciding if this league is the right fit for you. We do not seek out nor accept warm bodies who will submit an export. We seek out quality, highly engaged general managers who will offer the most in way of contribution to our already vibrant community.

We have two unique openings in the LRS.

The Niihama-shi Ghosts are presently engaged in a playoff battle with Shin-Seki as the LRS season winds down. This is a great situation for a quality GM to take over a solid team that should contend for years.

The Kawaguchi Transmitters are on the opposite end of the spectrum. For the GM who desires a challenge, the Transmitters are a team which needs a total overhaul, both in terms of talent and financially.

With the upcoming off-season, limited trading will open up between the LRS and the larger sister league PEBA for the first time, so it is an exciting time to be a member of the PEBA/LRS.

For those unfamiliar with Peba:

PEBA enjoys one of the lowest turnover rates due to our highlyactive and engaged community. A number of our GM's have been with theleague since it's inception in early 2008. Most others have been withthe league a great many seasons.

Our league is fictional, and around our fictional league there hasbeen built an entire fictional world with a deep history. Our ownersare highly engaged and active.

PEBA is not for everyone. It is not an export-only league. Ourslower pace creates an environment for building the fictional worldaround the league. If your looking for an export-only, sim like mad, play ten seasons a year league, this is not it. On average, wecomplete slightly more than two seasons per calender year.

The strength of PEBA is our community. You will find no other likeit in any online league. As such, when we seek out new candidates forour openings, we carefully review our candidates and look for thecandidates who have the most to offer the community.

A quick look at our home page shows the most recent contributionsof our members.

http://pebabaseball.com/

Our forums are among the most active you will find in anycommunity, with a variety of off topic discussions as well as PEBArelated chatter.

In response to a recent questionnaire, here are some of theanswers from our members to one question.

I love the community and great history this league has, it'struly one of a kind. - Charlie (Shinkansen GM)

The openness & participation of everyone. No one tries todog it, no one tries to get one over anyone outside the rules. Ifthere ever was an example of a league doing its best to create theperfect environment where everyone's working for everyone else thisis it. - Nigel (London Underground GM)

We have a good group of guys who simply enjoy baseball as wellas a host of other things as evidenced in our forums. The commitment;the current team does an excellent job of communicating to themembers, running various functions, sims, drafts etc. The writing isthe core of the league and what sets it apart. - Patrick (Edo GM)

I love the interaction between members, our continuity and theactivity level we achieve. Our stability is our greatest virtue.-Mike (Aurora Borealis GM)

The active community and lively trade environment areundoubtedly my favorite part of being a PEBA member. It really doesseparate us from other online leagues and I'd have no interest inparticipating in another online league. - Brian (Crystal Lake GM)

I like exactly how it's setup and run. I dropped anotherleague so that I could spend more time on the Knights. PEBA/LRS is areal gem for sure. - Rory (Tempe Knights GM)

Bumping. I'm the outgoing GM of the Ghosts and I'm leaving only because of real life time constraints. This is a great chance to become part of the Japanese wing of one of the top OOTP leagues, the Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance (PEBA). Its a very competitive and unique with solid GMs and a great commish. But best of all, PEBA has a great community (that I intend to remain part of, even without a team) and the forums are a lot of fun.

You would be taking over a team that had the third best record in the league in the just completed season (2019), with two straight post-season appearances as the wild card for the Shining Star Group (SSG). The formidable task is taking them to the next level, so they can get by the dominating Shin Seiki Evas.

The Ghosts have high fan interest, high fan loyalty, and a big market. Before 2019 I expanded seating at the home park from 35,000 per game to 40K. This led to record attendance for the Ghosts this just-completed season, and that in turn led to great profits. Cash is not currently an issue.

2B Eisaku Ito (left) suffered a torn labrum in 2018 and lost almost the entire year. But he bounced back in '19, hitting .354, with 118 runs scored and 83 RBI hitting in the two hole.
1B/DH Nori Oike (center) led the team in HR (33) and RBI (111).
SP Kata Nakamura (right) is the ace of the staff, and has twice won the division's pitcher of the year award.

So you're getting a strong, contending team that is popular and in good financial shape. The difficulties though are that the farm system is somewhat weak (ranked 9th out of 12 teams), and that's the result of my trading some prospects to win now. I did not, though, drain the system dry. You have some good young players. And the next draft class is very strong. You have all the picks except the fourth rounder. You should get three strong players out of those first three picks; its the best draft class in years.

I'm leaving the Ghosts with a heavy heart. I've built them with care. I'd love to see a dedicated owner take over, and take them to the one thing that eluded me -- the league championship.

If this opportunity interests you, send a PM to Commish Matt (Calzones, in the post above).

I run the Hyakujuu Shinkansen of the LRS and can't agree more with what has been stated above. Our league is truly one of a kind and has some of the best GMs around.

Have to say sad to see Tyler leave the LRS, one of the best all round GMs in an online league I've ever been in a league with in how he welcomed new GMs and how he took care of his team.
