I created an injury mod a few years that basically does the same thing - simplified & more old-school type of injury descriptions. It also eliminates CEI and SEI. It seems to work fine with OOTP 21...

I play a lot of single season and suggested this a couple of yrs ago

In addition, my file also limits injuries to 30 days... (This file is clearly not for everybody, but it's an option...)

Thanks, will take a look at your mod. Would be nice if the game built in that ability to limit duration
