AUWatcher
I am toying with a new program.
This program would be pretty much for the people that are simming a year at a time. You would launch my program and it would sit in the system tray. It would be watching the log files for certain things that you have told it to watch for. Such as: Such as No-hitters, cycles. Or a certain team or player. When said event happened, it would update a screen that is always on top of OOTP with the information. For instance, you could tell it to follow Norm Cash. A window would be on your desktop that is ALWAYS on top. As you are simming the season or multiple seasons, you would see it updated after each day what Stormin Norman did. Sound interesting?

Cool program. It is like 6.5 when someone would SO a certain amounts of batters in a game. when someone gets their 3000th hit...I like seeing milestones when they happen not at the end of the season..

Playing around with different things today and it is coming along.
I am starting with the ALL_TRANSACTIONS file for a certain user picked team. 3 windows are displayed and this file is parsed into the different windows: TRADES FIRINGS and SIGNINGS ABRITATION So far it is working, with just one lockup. I think I can show 8 windows, so I am thinking: Accomplishments, trades, injuries, firings/signings/releases/retired, ratings change. I have to check out what else is in those files. This could be interesting.

I sent you a test link through Yahoo Targy.
I am still running some tests on it, but it seems to be working somewhat. The problem is when my program tries to open up the file while OOTP is still writing to it. My program was erroring, but I trapped the error, but it then has to wait until it is wrote again. I am trying to figure a work around that. So far it is sort of cool. It shows you the trades, player signings, releasings, 5-5 games, etc. Mainly it opens the door for some stuff that I thought was not possible. Things I can do WHILE the game is simming leagues. I just have to get the brain to think of some wonderful things. It looks like this forum is very slow since the real baseball season has ended.
