Holy Cow...AI signs top players for nothing.
Wow, would be fun to be Chicago..
Getzlaf, yes that guy.... became free agent in 2013-2014 season... Chicago gets him for 6 years and $525,000 per NOT a TYPO... Berglund for 2 years and 540,000 per Nathan horton for 6 years and $560,000 per.... I mean sure a discount to go to a contender.... but ouch.... |

Yep, the finances still need a lot of work. It seems that a lot of players are being overpaid, which means that once free agency hits there's often not enough money to go around since the guys resigning have taken it all.
I mean, Zach Bogosian got 8m+. No wonder there was no money left. |

it gets better
apparently RFA's that would not resign to the good offers and said they rejected my 0 dollar offers (I know that bug has been reported) now play for a zero cap hit!! playing for free...

Yeah it looks like this is due to contract extensions being expensive, as Devils I managed to sign a bunch of 4/5 star players in the second season for cheapish compared to the same quality guys on my current side.
It seems like extensions might be priced over the market for these players, tempted to see if I can let some guys go in free agency and then pick them up on cheaper. |
