Ootp 26
If I buy OOTP 25 will I still have to buy the computer game again if I want OOTP 26 when it comes out?

You never "have" to buy the new version but yes, if you want 26 in March/April/whenever it's released, you'd need to pay for it regardless of whether or not you just bought 25.

Also Perfect Team is completely reset in every new version of the game, nothing carries over at all.

OOTP 26 will be March. OOTP might still be on sale and base games can be imported from 25 to 26. Or you can keep playing 25’s base game (historical, 2024 season forward, fictional leagues) until you want 26.

Well, actually you get to keep your 25 PT Team from this year into next year 26 version. I've been playing my 24 version team this year too just for the heck of it

I've assumed that the primary reason to buy OOTP Baseball 26 would be for the new player "cards" using 2024 data. Is this correct? If so, if I'm not in a hurry to start playing, I probably should wait. On the other hand, being impatient by nature I will probably buy 25 anyway!

For sure, you can use the same login from version to version (I've been Fabtron7 since PT19) but the team itself will start from scratch with ever new version, with none of the cards (or perfect points) carrying over.

Players under a license get facegens shipped with the game and show up on the player page in any game mode. For unlicensed players, they are in the bold-fonted link in my signature block.

I *think* (and correct me if I am wrong) what they mean is that you can keep logging on to OOTP25 and playing with those cards/points for the next year even once OOTP26 comes out, whether or not you also play OOTP26 PT.

You can also start a team in PT26 and still go back into PT25 and mess around with the old team.
