Some QOL additions and other ideas this game needs going forward
Gonna try to make this as clear as possible. Ive been playing OOTP for close to a decade now, and especially now, with many of the newer features, it seems that no one has a clue at all how it works or what it does. So here's my list of stuff that hopefully would be implemented as a good feature, helpful to users, whatever else I can think of.
1. A guide or something that explains a lot of different things in the game that exist. For example, Realized Effort. Can we get an actual explanation of wtf it is, how often it is updated, and how, if at all, we can force it to update the realized effort on a player's page. Small stuff, like a little (?) put on some features that maybe aren't the most clear parts of the game to understand, could have a full explanation of what it is, how it works, and any other info that would be helpful to allow the player to understand whatever it is they may be looking for. 2. The developmental relationship is seemingly nowhere to be found outside on a player's page. So no easy way to see this at all. The relationship tab on a coach's page doesn't show it. Nowhere on any other screen does it seem to exist. Why does this feature seem to have absolutely any place to see it like we can regular coach relationship? Or even the explanation of what the difference is between Dev and work relationships. Could play into #1 about the (?) box on things in the game. 3. Better import/export options in-game. This is a huge one to me and im sure others. For example, if I want to export a team in my save and play a random 1v1 of my MLB team in Save 1 against an MLB team or even an AA team in Save #2, it should be as simple as selecting exported teams and putting them into the exhibition. We also should be able to do this for any specific team, including Rookie, ACL, etc. Another thing that would be great. Maybe the ability to import a league from a save into an entirely different save 4. To go along with #3, making things easier for importing info if we wanted. For example, let's say I have a great team and my friend would love to import my team or even the entire organization into his save it should be easy enough for him to select the organization he wants to replace all the players with and just do it. I get that everyone has a player ID but there has to be a way to adjust any new player being imported and assign that player a new ID or whatever needs to be done. Idk how much work this would take but man this would be an awesome feature to be able to smoothly import and export stuff into a different save without fear of something completely destroying the save. 5. ONLINE. This is the one thing that would be so amazing if it could be made easier IMO. A friend and I absolutely live on this game. I have almost 1k hours in the game, as does he, but if there was an easier way to play online together without the need for server setup, that would be great. The only real way is using the remoteplay whatever download and play that way, which is neat, but if something allowed both him and me to do our saves at the same time, ready up for the day or even a week, and have a commission account sim, however long would be awesome. Maybe if the admins included servers in-game naturally in some way, and required us to pay for them monthly or something to use them? 6. Create a Template/Quick Start. This would be something that could use a refresh to be more user-friendly to create custom setups to share. Especially if there is a way to allow for updated rosters within these setups, if we are using real players within these template/QS, be it if I start a save on opening day or wanna use the player ratings from, let's say today, that would be a great option. In addition, an easier way to save and edit the template when needed. The few times I tried using it currently when I loaded it the teams always shuffled around for some reason. 7. To go along with #6 I notice the game has thousands of schools listed in the database. If there were a way to somehow classify each college team's division and league, and make it a much smoother process to create a full College and HS template. The way things are now, doing college is an impossible level of tedious to make, so being able to import an entire D1 Conference into an NCAA league would make life infinitely easier, even if we have to manually do unis and even team names ourselves. Maybe the same can be done for HS. Just have any specific HS tied to a state, and if we make an HS league for a state, the game could directly pull from the HS listed in that state. 8. Coach Mode. As it stands now, we can apply for literally any job from day 1 and get it. I'd love to see something where we actually have to earn a reputation and work our way up the ranks, from maybe an Indy manager to earn job offers from even DSL teams. Have actual contracts be a thing in the game, including being fired as a manager, have teams approach us for jobs instead of just everything being open basically as it is now. 9. Exhibition mode. This game has records of every player during every possible year. How do we not have an exhibition mode to just play the 1920s Yankees vs, like the 2023 Rangers, or even set up a Playoff or even a single-season mode to import any specific team from any era and run a 30-team season with teams across baseball history and see who wins it all? 10: Player Attributes. This one is a big one imo. But the scouting tab should show the history of all the players' attributes history and the progression and regression of it. So a pitcher we can see when their potential dropped on their Changeup or when in his career his pitches started getting worse. Or we can see when a guy developed into that Gold Glover, since we would see when his Range, Arm, ect attributes really started improving. Now we just get a hitters batting stats and a pitchers pitching stuff, control and movement. why not have everything included if its an attribute? 11. Drag and drop editing league structures. This would make adjusting divisions, conferences, leagues and whatever else so much easier if we can drag and drop from 1 to another on the same screen instead of using that drop-down menu we have now. Im sure there is more ill edit as I think of it. Last edited by iruleall15; 10-14-2025 at 07:11 PM. |
