There's a lot more going on during Live Sim to support the Stats stuff. What's the "Seasons to Simulate" value? Try cutting down that value to something small like 10 or 100 and see if that makes it work.

The logic for whether someone is draft eligible is either they belong to a feeder league and are of the right age (which works fine), or their draft eligible flag is set to true and the draft league is your league. So it sounds as if either the flag is not set in players.csv, or the draft league is wrong. I'd need to see players.csv to know, but it might be an OOTP bug with your draft setup. Can you PM me a place I can take a peek at players.csv, and give me one person who is not showing up correctly?

Nuts, I noticed this in developing the patch but forgot to look into it. I'll put a quick fix soon, but will wait to hear on some of the other issues people are having and if they need a fix as well.

Just generated the Awards ballot for the first time with the new OOTPOU patch. Rookie of the Year is not working correctly- it seems to have a LOT of veteran players.

OK, 5.1.2 released with a few bug fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where player pictures are not showing up
  • Fixed an issue with the Rookie ballot for the Awards utility
  • Fixed an issue with the Last Sim Records. Note that you may want to clear out team AVG, OBP and OPS if those records were corrupted with too-high values (the file is OOTPOU/lastSim/records<leagueId>.txt)
You'll need to Regenerate the UI Files from the Admin tab for the player pictures to show up in the Gamecast viewer.


OOTP 14 version coming very soon... just stop finding bugs

I fixed this issue, maybe it was user-error not sure, but I had the in-game draft set to 100 rounds (even though with the feeder+historical the pool was 38ish rounds) and I had the utility set to 38 rounds. But when I switched the utility to 100 rounds, magically the player pool expanded.

A secondary issue that I noticed and fixed was by your instruction setting the minimum age to 19 for the feeders, this was importing most of the 18 year olds but not all of them. I'm assuming there's some sort of cutoff for the people who just turned 18? By switching the age to 18, I was able to import all the 18 year olds and a smattering of 17 year olds, but it generated 1035 players for my pool which matched the exact number in the game's pool.

Tried that, but no dice. The strange thing is that it works fine for the OTBA, but not for the HBL. They're both on the same server, just different URLs/directories. I just installed the latest patch and got the same results. OTBA is fine, HBL is not.

How much history is there in the HBL compared to the OTBA? How many years in existence? Can you PM me a location to pick up your csv files and I can try on my local machine.

No, the OOTP 13 OU doesn't work on OOTP 14. I have a version of OU that works on OOTP 14 for everything but the Gamecast. Unfortunately the HTML for game logs was completely redone in 14 so I need to work out converting it to work with the new logs.

If you are dying for the 14 version I can release it with the Gamecast broken for now.

OU for OOTP 14 is released! See the first post for the download link. I did get the Gamecast to work so this should be a fully functional version, but of course, let me know if you spot something missing.

In fixing it up for OOTP 14, I found an issue in the OOTP 13 version for the Draft History Analyze feature, which has been fixed. Feel free to grab the latest version to fix it in your OOTP 13 leagues.

I don't plan on doing any more major work on the OOTP 13 version, but if there are bugs or a simple feature I can copy back to the 13 version, I will consider it. So that is why I am keeping two version of OU around for now.

I have it installed and looking good, everything seems in order. But damned if I cant figure out how my GM's can actually draft players...I'm having to select all the guys via the admin...I've used this before but I can't figure it out (how to select players...I don't see anywhere it sayd "Draft Player" or something of that nature. Is the only way to draft to add them to the list and tell it to auto select?


I'm having another issue with OOTPOU using it with OOTP14. My league has 8 teams, 6 are Human. In my league files Humans are GM's for The Chicago Infants and Boston Rebels but in the OOTPOU those two teams are listed as Computer Controlled and the two human team owners who run them are listed as owning the computer teams which are Chicago White Stockings and Baltimore Canaries

I've even gone as far as making all 8 teams human owned and ootpOU still insist that 2 teams are not human owned.

Is there something I need to do to reset everything and start over? I'm lost here

Nuts, this was one of the enhancements I meant to add and forgot. I'll put it near the top of the list for the next release.

I don't need it in 13 version as I'm bout done with my last season in ootp13 for our league

I just finished an Inaugural 70 round draft in 14. Went pretty well. Smooth import after the draft no problems. A few things I noticed.

The draft/admin links at the top of the page were mixed in the header and it was black text on a dark blue background, very hard to see.

The utility stopped a few times and I had to manually put in the player ID number to get it going again. (this happened when teams still had guys on their list and "draft from list" was active)

At one point when I would hit "Auto select" for a team from the admin draft list it would refresh and I'd be logged in as the team I was trying to select for but the pick wasn't made (see above for work around)

Other than that it was a real smooth process and even with those little annoyances was AWESOME and better than the alternative. Thanks for this program. makes being a commisn or GM so much easier!

Hrm, I used my OOTP 13 league setup to test the OOTP 14 league so likely the OOTP 13 background image still existed on the server. The fix will just be to include it into the OOTPOU zip and just deploy it instead of using OOTP's background image.

I'll whip a fix tonight or tomorrow, but something you can do manually if you care too.
