New to FHM- A few Questions

Development reports are monthly, except during the offseason. They'll list any ratings changes caused by development (things like storylines and injuries can also change the ratings, though.)

How many scouts should I have?
I cannot tell how many I should hire.

It's not about how many, it's about what they're scouting. Typically you want Scouts to cover a large area and you'd like them to look at current ability, and potential. I recommend 2 per area. You can scout either region or leagues. Personally I prefer Leagues in North America and try and do more regions on Europe.

You want Scouts covering:

NHL, AHL, ECHL, WHL, OHL, QMJHL, NCAA, USHL at least. 2 per. You may want more.

You can do regions in Europe, but you may want 2 scouts for KHL, VHL, SHL, ALL, Finnish tier 1 & 2. Then just have some elsewhere as well.

I'd recommend probably around 30 myself if you want to cover everything.

DO you put them on specific players before the draft or if you are looking to make trades for prospects to increase their A-E ratings?

You can, I don't. I'd rather have a better idea of where everybody's at. The important thing is not to just look at draft prospects though because if you make a trade for someone whether it's a year after they're draft or not you don't want to not have a scouting report on them

Hi. I just finished my first season. In Commisioner Mode. I assigned myself to be GM/Coach. After season ended , I wanted to change my status to just GM. I resigned from team and the AI assigned a new GM and Coach. I wanted to re-enter just as manager, but couldn't. I cannot figure out how to clear new GM. Can I undo that? Or fire the new GM?I want rto return return as just GM.... Thanks .. I love everything you guys do!

If you hire a head coach while you're GM/coach, you'll automatically be switched to GM-only mode.

For scouting assignments, does selecting Rights Available exclude players not yet drafted ? (prospects of upcoming draft(s))
