Tommy Harper is listed as playing for the San Diego Padres in 1962. He did. However, it was the PCL version of the team, not the MLB franchise yet the game thinks he was at the MLB level.

Historical players continue to import incorrectly when they are young.
See for example the potential ratings of Cy Young and Kid Nicholls in 1890. This one has histor minors applied.

This is not really a historical db issue, more a bug. If you could make a post about this in the main bug reports forum, that would be helpful to making sure we don't lose track of this. Thanks!

I started a straight historical sim, starting with the 1961 season. I imported history and minor leagues. A weekly email appeared that listed the all-time one-season extra-base-hits leader. 3rd was George Puccinelli. I thought, who is this guy and why have I never heard of him. Needless to say, his stats were all wrong from real life. Even within it's own context, it's wrong (compare DOB to Age onscreen, or retirement year). Screen shot enclosed

This is correct in the db itself, so it has to be some sort of import bug or something weird that happened in your save. Probably another one where it would be most helpful to create a separate post for in the main bug reports forums.

I think this is related to sprague's post above about historical players importing incorrectly when they are young.

I started a historical league in 1970, potential ratings based on remaining peak seasons, 1 year recalc. I simmed to the start of the 1971 season. Looked at Ron Guidry's ratings (1 to 100, scouting off 100% accuracy).
Stuff potential = 81
Movement potential = 35
Control potential = 17

The movement and control potentials are pretty far from reality. Assuming this is the same bug as sprague's do you have any estimate on when it may get addressed? Historical is pretty much the only way I play and with this bug I really can't play.

I would hope we can get this sorted in the first patch, but I can't necessarily promise that at the moment until we can take a bit of a closer look here.

For what it's worth, when I create a league for 1935 the stats for this fellow display correctly (i.e., 53 HR's for AAA Baltimore in 1935). But when I create a league in the 60's with imported history and real minors, the same stat line is displayed as 53 HR's for the MLB St Louis Browns in 1935. Even if the entry is correct in the database, my guess is that is has to do with the real-life MLB Baltimore Orioles franchise starting out as the Browns.

I copied my historical save from OOTP22 over to 23 but when I try to open it, I get an error saying that the Historic DB will not load.

Is there something I need to do?

I just fired up the 1981 World Series. Milbourne is there on the Yankees roster. Dent was apparently injured IRL and did not play in the postseason.

I started a Historical 1871 league and players did not import to any teams. All teams are blank, I get to reports, show all MLB players and it does show the players, but I guess they are all free agents. Is this a bug or a setting issue?

For the very early historical leagues, if I remember correctly, we start things off with a draft by default, as some of those early teams did not have enough players to actually field a functioning team in OOTP. So we add in a few extra players and then run a draft to start things off as that tends to distribute the small pool of players a bit more evenly.

Anupdate onto problem I am having with the Historical DB not loading: in the error it says that it can't fund the DB and it mentions the path... which is to the OOTP22 DB, but when I check the settings, it says it is pointing at the OOTP23 DB.

Which should it be?

23. It sounds like it might not be pointing to quite the right place though, for some reason.

Triple check and make sure it's pointing to the right place.

This should typically be something like follows:

Windows Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Out of the Park Baseball 23\data\stats

Windows Standalone: C:\Out of the Park Baseball 23\data\stats

Mac, I'm not sure, I think this can vary.

If you post a screenshot (or send me a pm)of where it shows it's linking to, I can try to look and see if there's anything that looks off.

Not sure if this qualifies but for me when I look at the team leaders for the season it is combining both regular season and spring training stats.

I'll assign them manually to the historically accurate teams then. We'll see how that works out. I want to simulate from 1871 to end of 2022. Using the options to assign the players to their original teams, use historic transactions, actual injuries, etc. Trying to simulate baseball history as accurate as possible.
