That's the beauty of the playoffs. The Fighting Saints have an excellent team and swept my Rangers 4-0. Hilariously though, my other OL team in the league, the Bombers, who did well well (95-67) but not super dominant took them to a game 5 in the division series and lost. We even had a 2-1 lead in the series at one point too. Just couldn't get it done.

Good luck to all next season!

Arrow Hooterville's Magical Season Ends Short of Rookie Champaionship Cup

Hooterville enjoyed their first winning season with a very impressive regular season record of 100-62 which also helped catapult them into their first ever post-season playoff bid.

First they started off struggling in the divisional series against the Rosarito Ranas as they found themselves down 2 games to 1, after winning the first game and dropping the next two, in the best of 5 series.

Hooterville then turned it around winning the next two games with the climax taking place in a game 5, two run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning by C Ernie Lombardi.

With the win, Hooterville advanced to the Sub-League Series in which they defeated the New Jersey Plague, 4 games to 1.

Next, Hooterville advanced to their first ever Rookie Level Series Championship against a whale of a team, the Bulman Bulldogs who had a roster loaded with perfect and high rated diamond players. Needless to say, the series was anti-climatic and the Haymakers were swept in four straight games, ending Hooterville's magical post season run.

For season 2023, Hooterville will be promoted to the Stone Level.

Will the Haymakers be able to continue where they left off, only time will tell.

Question Who Is New to OL for Next Season?

@ Jason & Mark....

Is there any way you guys can add a highlighted color to any new teams to OL that should be added to our Friends List, for the next season?

The updated spreadsheet is very helpful however, easily advertising who is new to OL and needs to be added to our Friends List would be most helpful and would help ensure that they are not omitted by other OL members for the up-and-coming season.

For example Terra Incognita Rustlers; user: Gil_Gamesh is new for 2023 however, this is not easily recognizable when looking at the OL spreadsheet as their entry looks the same as all of the other listed teams.

Thanks,

Chad

Seems like everyone made it into Iron 184. I will handle the OL stats for iron this week. Coney Island has a terrible draw sitting in the same division as OL counterparts Kansas and also the Vegas Blackjacks.

Is it too early to say "wait til next year?"

Stone 165 Placement

Here's the division setup for Stone 165. 7 OL teams made it. That appears to be everyone who's in Stone, so way to go us!

Yea, the Bombers series was fun to watch. I caught all the games and I thought for sure you had it.

As a side note, it appears you may get a rematch!

Iron 184

Here's the setup for the Iron 184 league. 10 OL teams are in the league, 5 in the AC and 5 in the NC. Spread is decent, though Annandale is alone in the AC East and there are 3 OL teams in the NC east.

I did a quick scan of all the rosters and everyone seems beefier than in Rookie ball (as to be expected). This ain't your grandma's Iron league though! IMHO, top teams from the roster scan include:

AC East: Saint Paul
AC Central: Hidden Valley
AC West: Weston Pointe
NC East: Vegas and Kansas
NC Central: no leading contender
NC West: Cary

It's going to be a long season in Annandale, as it seems to me we're no better than the middle of the league (and more likely will end up in the bottom third). It's gonna be a tough season.

Picked up a couple of golds last night to help out Lumberton. Neil Walker at 2nd base and I forget who the starting pitcher was. Asheboro I have played the pack game the last few days and have come up empty. They are pretty much running out the same team as last season.

Oh my.

Despite a very Stone-like roster the Rock Piles have made their way to Iron. Not content to hide in an out-of-the-way division, they've landed in the NC East, where they can become the punching bags of Vegas and the Kansas Rangers.

Yay.

KRP, indeed.

New season, new name and a new sheriff in town...

With a change in season comes a change in name for the Krikkit baseball club. Hactars never really caught on with the fans, so after a close vote, they choose War Robots to represent the team.

After auditioning 96 players for the new season, a few standouts made the cut. The starting will rotation will have a new sheriff, Sheriff Blake, that is. A one-hit wonder from 1928, Blake finally gets a chance to prove he can provide more hits.

The starting lineup is relatively unchanged. Jerry Mumphrey takes over in center and 3 new backups were added to the bench. Backup catcher Phil Masi was a 1947 All-Star. Shortstop Angel Berroa was terrific as a rookie in 2003. And, center fielder David DeJesus earns a snapshot from 2005.

On a sidenote, while the 16 packs didn't provide much help in terms of players, they will provide more points than they cost. The live pulls included 2 high value silvers, 3 golds, a diamond and a perfect Jacob deGrom. I've already sold 9938pp worth and still have 2 golds and the perfect to sell plus all the over priced bronzes and irons.

As I say that...they lose on opening day 19-0.

Yep, see you next week kids. I'm going back in my cave. Sleep is a better option than watching my team eat blowout losses at a level they have no right being at all week.

I don't quite understand. You won the crown. Oh, that other league we're stuck in. That's just for PP. Your team got the important job done. I understand missing out on the other 1,000 stinks.

OL ST165 and OL R81 for 2023

I have teams in each and would be happy to standings for both, but would be happier if someone wants to grab one.

By the way, is there anyway to change in the viewing speed and level of play-by-play for the repays in PT? I like to watch them on occasion, but the wordiness I could live without. The settings don't seem to be adjustable while you're actually watching. I've looked, but haven't found anywhere to change them that sticks.

Thanks.

As confirmation, the Rock Piles are 0-6, getting swept in consecutive 3-game series by - you guessed it - Vegas and Kansas.

Hey Shinbone!

Since we are again strangers together in a strange land, let's renew the challenge from last year, just to give our season a bit OL flair. Sadly we only meet twice, for a total of seven games, but still a substantial test.

The Keepers would offer a private show at the night club of the Asylum Keepers official band, the Count Five, whose mega hit "Psychotic Reaction," celebrates every Keepers home win, and also lent it's name to the venue, "The Psychotic Reactor."

The event would, of course, be fully catered. Whad'ya say?
