Really digging the 1990's ads to go with the style of those times. I was a teenager who loved getting his USA Today Baseball Weekly every week, plus had yearly subscriptions to Sports Illustrated. The adds bring back fun memories... good times!

This is interesting. The teams in each East division won 579 games. The teams in each West division won 555 games.

During the season 33 players appeared in games and 23 were real life Pirates. I'm guessing I got some better than real life performances. Surely keeping Bonds isn't the difference between losing seasons and being World Champion. (BTW, throughout his career Bonds has signed for under market.)

Merced and Blowers are two that jump off the page v IRL. Add BB to the mix and there's some of the difference.

I think I benefitted from some above average performances and made some good/lucky selections of non Pirates to fill in some spots.

I got lucky. I'm in St Petersburg. The national media gathered in the Tampa Bay area to report on the destruction of Tampa, Clearwater, St Pete, etc. Stationing the reporters here was the right call at the time the decision had to be made.

I'm sorry for the people farther south who got what was until the last few hours aimed at the Tampa Bay area. This is now two that were literally aimed for my house within a day of landfall and conditions changed enough to spare me the worst.
