Whalers down week?

Promoted to Bronze league and looks like I will be taking my lumps. Have been incrementally upgrading to Gold cards, but I go tthe itch, so I bought 2 packs and ended up pulling a 100 LIVE Juan Soto! JACKPOT! Now to flip him. Do I start filling with Diamonds? Do I start solidifying my Golds for a great year-long tournament team (this is my inkling as I will have all year to get Diamonds)? There are no other Joan Sotos in the AH, so I put him artificially high (60K AV7D is 23500 with all time at 75K.) Maybe someone will bite. I've got some time to see where the market sets for him instead of getting the first 25K that someone wants to pay. I'll try to milk it for a bit. Just when I think the Whalers would be coasting for a week or so I get a lifeline.

tourney fyi - if you have a gold roster and don't mind tying up a slot for a bit, there's a pretty sweet one that popped up.... Weekly gold perfect point jackpot.... 50K top prize (even 5th-8th place gets 5K)... won't kick off for 4 days, but bet it doesn't take long to fill up

Those were good years on the Flats. Final Four, Football championship, consistently good baseball team. Senior year, there was some freshman living down the hall from me...Norman, no, Ramon, no...oh yeah NOMAR!

who the heck made this schedule? I have 28 games in April and 10 of them are against the same team

might as well plug in the other 9 games we'll have and get 'em all out of the way right off the bat

I agree that the schedule is one of the worst things in PT. It would seem such as easy issue to model a fairly balanced flow of play. I think it's just one of those kind of small details that a small company doesn't notice because it doesn't get a lot of complaints. It sure is weird, though to play a team half your whole season in a couple of weeks. Very unrealistic.

I started a 1966 Atlanta re-do, but not in challenge mode. Too bad, because I actually won the WS in '66, downing the mighty Orioles. I might revisit that and restart in challenge mode.

Though I was born and grew up in New York, we lived for a year in Milwaukee, because that's where my father's family had migrated to , while he remained in New York after getting married. He didn't get along with them very well, so we returned after that one year, in 1961 shortly after my 8th birthday. I remember liking it there a lot, so I always had a soft spot in my heart for the Braves. My Aunt Phyllis worked in County Stadium, I'm not sure if it was for the Braves, but it would have been a great thing for me if we had stayed. Anyway, that's how this save ended up being the Braves.

Results so far, meh...

Just got my first chance to check since this morning to mixed results for all three teams. They're all around .500, I think two a little above and Port Ruppert one below. In the important games, Terra Incognita took two of three from Hartford on the road, while Port Ruppert dropped three straight at Brigadoon, all close contests, after the Mundys had take game one of the four game set. Port Ruppert is enroute to Vlora for four games to finish out their OL schedule for today. Asylum begins the Food Fight Challenge III later on tonight against Shinbone, the two-time winners. Terra Incognita continues it's OL road trip with upcoming three-gamers at Sierra Vista and Daytona Beach.

He's the 100 I pulled as part of Asylum's pack run leading up to their return. He racked up a lot points for me as well, and along with the other amazing live cards I pulled, helped chop a week off the Keepers return to OL. My advice is to hold tight as you can, and try to get a little more by being patient. I don't believe I finally sold him until he was already off the Keepers roster. I think Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings help make people bite as they make a playoff push. I believe I sold him at around 29,000. I just took the average, added 10% to make the buy now, and that's what he sold for, the buy now, that is. Just too bad you can't use him. He's a good producer.

Brigadoon Breaks on Top in OL I181

Aye, Highlanders indeed, as another excuse for a shirtless Groundskeeper Willie cartoon manifests itself in the early OL I181 season.

Stars Strike First in Food Fight III

The Asylum Keepers couldn't hold a 6-2 home lead, falling to Shinbone in 11 innings, 8-6, at Sanitarium Hills Stadium last night. Paul Shuey was a tightrope walking hero for the Stars, stranding Asylum runners in scoring position in the late innings, before giving way to Bob Stanley in the bottom of the 10th. Stanley's double play grounder with men on first and third got the Stars into the 11th, where they proceeded to slap Keepers' closer Brad Lesley with a pair of runs, making it 8-6, Shinbone. Stanley shut the door with a seamless home 11th.

Based on the level of competition Coney Island is going to spend part of this week training players at other positions. Ownership will be cutting all funds to the GM as this season does not appear that it will be as lucrative as the past-unless there is a gold achievement added for most losses vs a diamond Blyleven in a single day. Think I was 0-5 against him yesterday.

Stone league update:

Fairly light schedule to start, so plenty of room for movement as the season progresses.

Yes it was an ugly month yesterday for both Brigadoon and Annandale. I do believe the season is going to be one of hunkering down and waiting for the storm to pass us by.

I think a certain Highlanders super fan might disagree. I understand him, though, I am as OL focused as he is.

Shinbone completes road sweep as venue revealed for Food Fight III

The Stars training staff may become concerned if the Shinbone and Asylum don't get off the Food Fight treadmill of limited OL play. There seems to be no limit to their desire to tie on the feedbag, and ability to earn it. The stars again manhandled the Keepers at Sanitarium Hills Stadium, sweeping their all-too-gracious hosts. The teams will meet again in May in Shinbone.

In a somewhat combined effort, the (seemingly annual Stars-fest) celebration for the winner of the head-to-head will be at the Cafe du Fou, a Shinbone Landmark started by former Sanitarium Hills resident Jerry Samuels. Samuels, a former disc jockey, became a "one-hit wonder" in the '60's with a song called "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha, Ha!" He recorded the song under the stage name "Napoleon XIV," which he eventually took as his legal name.

When the song proved a bit more biographical then first assumed, Napoleon XIV took up residence at Sanitarium Hills in Asylum.

There he developed a passion for cooking, and was allowed to open a small stand he called "Bon Fou!" which featured his secret recipe for beignets pictured here. As his skill grew, so did the menu and the size and scope of the eatery itself.

When the Sanitarium was sold to the Keepers franchise and converted into the Sanitarium Hills Stadium complex, Bon Fou! became the headliner of the food offerings at the stadium.

Napoleon XIV, through a court-ordered release, left some months after and opened up Cafe du Fou in Shinbone, which rose to become a star in the wondrous gastronomic constellation that Shinbone represents. He left his hand-picked successor at Bon Fou! and still maintains a friendly relationship with his first creation. Due to that fealty, it was decided that both Shinbone and Asylum would contribute to the full blown feast as a team, calling on combined talents of the Cafe du Fou and Bon Fou!

Thank you if you've read this far. It seems my imagination has been socially distanced to Sanitarium Hills. The beignet are real, though, made this morning.

Well, I was goofing around with the Mods section.. There is a new sounds folder that said just download to your sounds folder.. I believe I places the sounds in my PT sounds folder.. now all I get is the opening crowd sounds, no other sounds, batted ball etc.. I looked at the folder, all the sounds are in there.. How do I get them back without reinstalling the game... Perhaps delete all the sounds in the PT folder and replace one by one from the main sound folder???? I knew I would mess up sooner or later..lol
