Well, he hasn't even posted in almost a year.
I love this tool and would love to see it updated. Lighthouse's was nice too (had other areas of focus). I loved running this after my seasons.

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't responded, been busy.
I don't have version 11, but I wouldn't have the time to update the program even if I did. Things are just too chaotic around here. The problem, most likely, is the links out to the files. Markus likes to rearrange things or add things in between other columns. Someone should be able to go in and redo those links so they work right. It's not all that hard to do but takes a little time. Go to the tables and make a new one, choose link table, go find the right ootp file and choose it, hit advanced, choose the specs button. You'll want to delete all of those specs and make new ones. You need to note what fields are in those tables now, needs to have the same columns linked in with the same titles as they've always been. When it's all good you hit the save as button and make sure it's titled right (example: "Games Link Specification" is the comma delimiter, "Games Link Specification1" is the other one (colon, semicolon?)). Once that's been done for all the linked tables, there's 13 of them, it should work fine again. Post back here if no one can get it working, I'll try to hook up with someone to email me some files and hopefully fit in some time to play with it.

Yes, I did get it to work. The only thing I had to do once I set up my league path and all that was delete the link to the 'Players' table and relink it. Seems to work fine for what I use it for. I don't really use the whole win shares part of it, but I'm sure that would work fine also.

Thanks Tysok!
Falkon, I'm with Koohead...can you post it? If not, how do you get it to point at the "right OOTP file"?

I tried to "fix" the db but couldn't figure out how to relink?? Definitely not an Access expert so I'm probably missing something obvious. any help would be appreciated...really liked this db.

There should be a button to 'Reset' or something. You click that and i think it clears all the tables. Then when you paste the link to your OOTP folder (import/export folder), it will re-link all of the linked tables. For instance, you might have a players table and also a players1 table, with the players1 table being the old link. just go and remove any linked tables that have a number behind them and delete the 'players' table link and relink it manually.

I must be doing something wrong or missing something. My results are the same before and after relinking. I don't get Ink scores in the batters HOF stats table, and only see 1 or 2 pitchers listed (with no stats) in the pitchers HOF table.
Here's what I did... 1. downloaded the empty database. 2. defined my pathway 3. clicked link tables, comma delimited 4. click the reset pathways... 5. deleted all of the link tables 6. relinked 7. manually deleted the Players link table 8. manually created a new Players link 9. updated base tables and HOF data and got the results noted above.

Oh, you see, I don't use the ink test or none of that, so I'm not sure if that part works or not. If I'm not mistaken (and I may very well be), I think you have to calculate your win shares for each year that has been played in your league for that part to work. Maybe try doing that then check to see if the ink test and all of that works.

I'm really missing this utility. We need some Access expert to help with this.

If you can start a new league, play 3 seasons, then dump the files and email those to me I'll get this thing working. Email: tysok1@sbcglobal.net It might be a week or so after I get them, but I'll make time to get it fixed.

I believe I've got it working. I emailed a copy over to Cody to double check me and make sure, if all goes well should be able to get a working version for 11 out soon.
