Wow four shorthanded goals in one game that must be some kind of record. |

Canucks red hot through October
Vancouver has surprised fans and critics alike after stumbling last season and offloading a handful of vets in the summer. They have looked dominant at times, their best players are playing like it, Kesler is top 5 in the league in goals with 6, and Jacob Markstrom has been on an absolute heater. Preseason darling Sergei Shirokov has continued his stellar play into the games that count, Chris Tanev has added more offense than was expected of him, and the team looks very cohesive. They are buying in to Trevor Linden right now and he is looking good. Two defensemen they traded away, Edler and Campbell, are having standout seasons so far with Montreal, both good for top 5 in league scoring, but they don't even seem to be missed. These Canucks are looking much more like the President's Trophy winning, Stanley Cup Finals reaching team from two years ago, but can they keep it going? |

Schneider back in between the pipes after Markstrom has a great run. David Rundblad steps in for the injured Dan Hamhuis, who is listed as day to day. Alex Burrows was fired up tonight and played a huge game, fantastic on defense, throwing seven hits, four of them massive ones, and also absorbing four big hits. Very involved. Subban had a quiet but very solid night against his former team, taking six shots on goal, blocking a shot, and getting a takeaway in almost 25 minutes of icetime. |

Patrick Thoresen and Joey Tenute come back into the lineup for Brandon Yip and Manny Malhotra. Markstrom gets the start tonight against his old team. Florida, however, rests Lui for this one and goes with Jose Theodore. |

Trade Tracker
Toronto trades Tim Connolly and a 7th to Ottawa for defenseman Filip Kuba (the trade was actually for Zibanejad and Kuba... I try to just let things be for the most part - real life GMs make dumb trades too, but that's INSANE... Connolly is 1.5 star, 31 yo, and has 1 goal in six games... Zibanejad had more games and points this year... IRL they gave up on him too soon and shipped him off to the Rangers, but they got (at least perceived at the time) good value... also noticed Zibanejad had crazy low potential, so I fixed that too... thankful that this game makes it very easy to go to commissioner mode and undo ridiculous stuff like this with a couple clicks) Last edited by CanuckJohnny; 04-22-2022 at 04:02 PM. |
