Stone league update:
Hartford and Waffletown remain tied atop the standings at the halfway point. In the overall standings, Sierra Vista, Hartford and Left Coast each lead their respective divisions. Terra Incognita and Asheboro each hold down a wild card spot, and Daytona Beach and Waffletown are both also within striking distance of a post season position. |

Whalers....with a hole in their pocket and needing a solid lineup option with contact instead of power, picked up Left Fielder Bobby Veach (87 Gold, 82CON 86POW). Fielder and Oliva are now platooning at DH.

Dang it I forgot to pop in this morning and see how terrible my teams are doing! OK now I’ve said it. In all honesty though, Brigadoon is playing 500 ball and although it’s frustrating I guess I shouldn’t really expect more than that from their first year in iron. It’s just that I replaced about six of the starters and I think everyone of my replacements should do great… So when they have a terrible season I start second-guessing myself.
We did have one game where we scored 20 runs and I think I earned around 4500 PP. That has been the highlight of the season so far. I’ve been plowing the money into missions though, so I have not seen any tangible rewards (yet). |

I just pulled a 100 DiMaggio from a pack that I got from Challenge mode!! The first 100 card I have ever had!!
Now to sell or keep. He is going for around 300,000 PP.

that's the hard part of pulling a top notch card.... he could finance a nice squad at this point in the game.... but could also put up some crazy numbers he'd fit quite nicely into my old timey squad.... instead my CM pack gave me Wilmer Difo and some dupes I already had (no offense Wilmer, but you're no Joltin Joe )

I pulled a 100 Peak Legend Ted Williams last year. I ended up keeping him and enjoying the rewards that he gave me.

FINALLY!!!
American League Live collection is finished! Getting the last 4 or 5 cards was extremely difficult and taxing, but it's over and I got lots of shiny diamond guys now. I usually wait to change players between seasons, but I don't think I can look at 99 Yaz on the reserve roster for that long. Besides, I have a series against the Bulman Bulldogs coming up and I'm surprisingly close to them for best record. All-Star game is coming, so I think I'll wait till then. For the record, here are the numbers. Value is the 7-day average when I started, so probably different now. I'll update pack values after I open them. |

I don't know if you read my previous posts about pulling the 100 Cy Young last year, about this time. I believe it was a mistake to hold onto him. Of course, I compounded the problem by first trying to take the team in a more or less pre-1930 theme. Big mistake, and I ended up spinning my wheels because of it. He earned tons of points, but never got close to the 300-400 K he was going for then. If it was later in the term of the game, I might hold onto him, but the chance to re-make your squad may not come again. Just my opinion, though, you gotta do what feels right. For me, for example, if I pulled a Willie Mays, I wouldn't sell him for 500 K. |

Nice Pull
I got on here to crow a little bit about my pack luck turning, for at least one pack, and the Joltin' Joe blows it away. Still, Port Ruppert , which has got it's first pack in two day, and from that one pack pulled two live golds to sell and the Darold Knowles from that repeat thing. It turns out I only need one more guy to complete it. Dick Green has been the Mundys second baseman since before the misssion. A bit of advice from those of you that seem to manage the collections, if you don't mind. Is it worth spending like 3,000 on one of those remaining cards to complete it?

That was surprising, but when I looked he was back over 20k. Might want to keep Plank, he's killing it for me this season. 14-0, 2.64 in 20 starts. |

For those of you who didn't catch SnaggleJ's This Week In Perfect Team (TWIPT) show that aired tonight, it was announced that Gold packs were permanently reduced from 5,000pp down to 3,000pp.
That sure looks tempting especially when you have a bunch of stored-up PP however, I still am not having good luck with packs I open from winning tournaments or from challenge mode. So I doubt I'll buy any Gold Packs. I sure am not buying standard packs. I deal with the AH 100% of the time. |

B217
Kansas goes 6-1 to leap from 4th to 2nd place behind leaders Weston Pointe. Hidden Valley remains within striking distance in 3rd place.
Kansas and Weston Pointe are still likely the only two OL teams to reach the playoffs in B217. Currently the two are firmly holding down the two wildcard spots in the NC. Kansas is 18-4 in July and trail Washington by 2.5 games in the NC West. Weston Pointe trails Adirondack by 3 games in the NC Central. |

Mundys Nudge Ahead in OL I181
As Port Ruppert and Krikkit keep themselves separated from the pack, fans of both clubs are turning their eyes toward mid-September, when the the teams meet at Glorious Mundys Stadium for a three-game set.

PT Gods Family Friendly?
For the second day in a row, meager pack availability did not hamper a big score. Asylum, with just one pack, pulled a 2018 Mike Trout to replace Jerry Mumphrey in center, plus a live gold and two live bronze to sell.
Why? I have a theory. Yesterday, also with only one pack, the Mundys pulled big. In both cases, I hit the kitchen early to prepare a special treat for my family. Yesterday was fresh cornbread to go with dinner later in the day. This morning, I was up at 4 a.m., so instead of rolling over and going back to sleep, I got up to prepare cinnamon rolls. While the dough was rising, so apparently, was my pack luck. A coincidence? Ask the PT gods. Maybe they like me being nice to my family. |
