Just a friendly reminder that your use of Live cards, disqualifies that team from being considered an OL team, and none of your games will be counted.

Continued occurrences of being disqualified, will lead to a team's removal from the OL.

It has truly been a magical season for Brigadoon. And it all started with that game where we scored 20 runs last season. That got me enough PP to get the collections rolling and yesterday morning I completed all the live collections. I feel a little bit embarrassed about how well they’re playing so… And I’m not kidding here… I’m not going to put Yastrzemski, Cano, or Yogi Berra on the team until next year. I figure the guys who been playing well so far deserve to finish out the year.

Meanwhile I am praying that Annandale gets relegated this year so I can regroup a little in iron. I’m not sure exactly where I took a wrong turn but none of my players are hitting worth a lick in bronze. And I am thinking about changing the focus of the team.

One of the highlights of completing the collections was being able to open a couple of historical packs. I will never buy one since they are 10K PP, but the two I opened were fun. One of them had three golds in it though together they might sell for around 7K so it would still have been a money losing proposition if I purchased it directly.

Since I have been in a collection completing mood, I looked at a few other collections to see if any were economically viable but I don’t see any worth completing. I was thinking about the Year of the Pitcher one but it doesn’t make sense to me to spend 30,000 PP on cards that award a 20,000 PP reward.

I have been focusing pretty much exclusively on Brigadoon the past two weeks, but now it’s going to be Annandale‘s turn! Let me see if I can unscrew them up!

I am glad to hear that you are using common sense, which alot of guys appear not to be using.


For example, in order just to get a free regular pack as a mission reward, some guys are bidding on player cards that cost more pp on just one card than on what it costs to acquire one regular pack, on your own.


It just doesn't make any sense.

and from the intra-divisional opponent view... it's been annoying as heck to go 53-23 in the last 3 months and *still* lose ground (was only 5 games back on May 1... now it's 15.5)....

I agree. It's weird. My iron team has been sitting for two weeks just short a Neftali Feliz from completion for a free standard pack. I checked the AH for the first time in three days and there was one bid up to more than 900 PP with three bids on it. And that's the first time I've seen it less than 1,000. WTF? At this point, if I pulled one, I might just sell it and say the hell with the free pack.

yeah some of those AH prices just make me shake my head and chuckle.... only completed one mission here so far (Oakland for Plank).... just taking the slow route for now and letting them fill in as I obtain packs... I'm just happy when I open a pack, then check my roster for dupes and find zero every new card is one step closer to finishing a collection


edit: after just being swept by Terra Incognita, I'm putting forth the following prediction.... Syrups will finish the year with the second best record in the league, but end up with the wild card spot as the top team is in the same division. They will face off against Terra Incognita in the wild card match and promptly get booted from the post season after a single game.

Weston Pointe posts another 9-0 day in OL games. The Puppies have gone 14-4 over the past few days but its too little too late. Caspers fans will be out in force to see their team fitted for a crown tomorrow.


In Bronze play, Weston Pointe and Palolo will represent the OL in the AC and in the NC Cary is assured a spot while Krikkit is one game behind Laramie for the second WC spot. Krikkit had wrestled the second WC spot away but Laramie is currently 18-6 in August. The two teams do not face each other today.

Brigadoon has only four games remaining in OL I210, all on the road against Terra Incognita. Hartford, the only other team with a mathematical chance, would need to win all 13 of their remaining OL games while the Highlanders went winless. Hooterville's OL schedule is finished. Needless to say, Willie thought it safe to begin practicing for the inevitable parade. By the way, I discovered I had made a mistake and put one of Brigadoon's losses on Bluffton. Sorry.

Yep, I removed the OL and + prior to even adding Trout to the team for the Bombers. The Rangers are still part of it. I'm giving Trout his shot since there's only 3 teams in Silver OL (2 of which are mine) and we're not all in the same league. So in this case, it doesn't really impact anything because OL games have to have a minimum number of games played, correct? Figured this was the best opportunity to test out Live Trout. Thanks.

Coney Island picked up a diamond Rizzuto in pack from a tournament win. I also bought a pack this morning and got a gold peak Bill Russell. I am playing Rizzuto now replacing Bud Harrelson. I can only keep one of the three going into next week. The Scooter is the most well rounded but I could sell him and focus on a card I've had my eye on with profit. If I do that and keep Russell I am sacrificing some up the middle D for a little more offense than Harrelson gives me.

I grew up listening to Rizzuto on Yankee telecasts, I worked as an instructor at a baseball camp in summers when I was in college and Harrelson, then a coach with the Mets came as a guest and he and I played catch and being a Yankee fan in the 70's I cant stand the Dodgers.

So the only thing I figured out so far is Russell doesn't stand a chance.
