WESTERN ASSOCIATION. currently no two teams can have the same name so one of these will be changed

Yep, Western Association. My mistake. I suggest Bears, Bruins, or Cubbies... In that same year the Cubs had a single A Western League team in Des Moines with the nickname of Bruins. So that would seem to fit more that the Bears, which was barely used by the Cubs affiliates.

Keeping 2019 Stats in an Imported Player's Career Stats not working

I am importing some players from history and am keeping the historic year of importation in the career stats. But for 2019 player imports, the 2019 stats don't appear in the player's history. I assume it is importing the 2019version of the player - but why won't their career stats show?

This is also the second year in a row that neutralized stats are not offered. Are neutralized stats a thing of the past?

Thanks!

newts do not work with the minor leagues, foreign leagues, negro leagues and all the rest. the game has left them behind. they were a leftover from the major league only days.

The Neutralized stats that aren't working are for major leagues, not the other leagues. But if I take your meaning, you are saying that 2018-forward, neutralized imports for MLB players also won't work? Is that correct?

Second issue was the 2019 season not importing. See the back end of this video. It shows Blake Snell failing to get the proper neutralized import but at the back of the 2 minute video you can see his 2019 data didn't come with him even with Real Stats selected. I assume this is a bug.

yes, newts do not exist for 2018 or 2019.

second issue should be posted one level up as the database is not really involved. it is more than likely a programming issue.

Working on building a 1983 league and I found these two players with mixed major/minor IDs. Billy L Smith imported with his own major league stats, but with Jim Smith's minor league stats. And came in erroneously as a SS.

RP Billy Smith (Didn't play in '83) - https://www.baseball-reference.com/p...mithbi06.shtml

and
IF Jim Smith (played with Denver/White Sox org) - https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=smith-035jam

Players disappear from FA list / draft pool after editing?

I've had this happen repeatedly, no idea why some players disappear and some don't.

1) Created 1915 historical league, set up for inaugural fantasy draft.
2) Imported 40 historical players to a team, cloned them to create "clean" free agent versions; deleted the 40 imported players from the team.
3) renamed each one of the clones to represent a Negro League player active that season.

(at this point, all 40 still appeared in the FA list and also in the fantasy draft pool, so everything looked good).

4) I then began editing each player, changing birth date/place and certain ratings as needed. I also zeroed out all service history. I did not change any of the player historical id's.

Of the first 10 players I edited, 6 of them DISAPPEARED from both the FA list and the Draft Pool (the other 4 are showing correctly). I can still search for them and find/open/edit them, and I was able to assign them to a team, but nothing I did subsequently has made them return to either of the player lists. I tried releasing them; rescheduling the draft; cloning the players a second time.

A) what am I doing wrong? Why are only some of the players disappearing?

B) Is there any way to force the missing ones back into the fantasy draft pool, like can I export/re-import the completed players to restore them?

I would post this editing challenge one level up rather than here as it is not a database challenge. it is more likely to be seen up there.

Went to play in Historical just the World Series with the Cubs/Red Sox in 1918.

Problem is that the Cubs used the White Sox Comiskey park that year so they could have more people show up. Comiskey park was much bigger than the Cubs field in that year.

Yet when you go to play the World Series 1918 the rosters are correct but the Cubs are playing in their stadium, Weeghmann park, instead of Comiskey park.

Intentional walks

Am I correct that intentional walks are not counted among player walks on the database? I tested this with Barry Bonds 1998, and it appears his 29 were left out. If this is true, historical player walks will need to be recalculated back to 1941 (so far) since new data have been added to Retrosheet / BBRef. For example, I just imported 1944 Ron Northey, who coincidentally also had 29 IBB that do appear to be included in his calculation.

each team only gets one park per year

ibb are their own thing and do not mix with other walks in the database

That's what I thought. Retrosheet has added a lot of new IBB data recently, and I'd noticed last year that the database hadn't yet picked up several seasons' worth of it. I'd hoped it would do so this year, but this datum has given me pause. At the very least, Northey's unintentional walk total is incorrect for 1944. When I get a chance I can check other players.

ootp does not consult retrosheet at this time.

Okay I just purchased OOTP21 (not the steam version) and I'm trying to add historical players to their teams. When I go to history then players then the letter B, I can't scroll down as there is no scroll bar on the right side. when I click on the word player it jumps down and creates a series of lines across the page and I can't access anything. Batters only, the pitcher part works fine

Missing Historic Database Player

When I do a search for Jermaine Clark I get "No players found matching Jermaine Clark" I am replaying the 2001 MLB season. Jermaine Clark appeared in 3 games with the Detroit Tigers according to Reference Sheet. Dates appeared were April 3, 5 and 6. Using OOTP21.

Just imported 1948 Jim Hegan, who per Baseball Reference had 31 unintentional walks and 17 IBB in 472 AB. Proportionally, he should import with Resulting Stats of about 35-36 BB per 550 AB for an Eye/Patience rating (in my league -- not sure how ratings work elsewhere) of 70-72. Instead, he imports with Resulting Stats of 55 BB for an Eye/Patience rating of 105, which is more in line with the game using his full walk total of 48. That's a pretty big discrepancy.
