Can any of the PT vets chime in with how this works for playoffs? I assume it's not the usual 12 teams.

Would people be so kind as to add the

New Zealand Silver Ferns - OL
(NZ+)

To the team list? They are packs only and have had really horrible luck with draws, so look at them as a practice team

Pretty sure it will be the usual 12, with 4 wildcards in each conference AND normal relegation. Glory or bust!

These leagues are great if you have a really good team, not so much if you haven't. We're probably all in the middling category, so likely to be walking a tightrope!

I'm still unsure why an 18 team league is seen as an acceptable 'solution'. I've always thought that a few leagues with 24-29 teams would be better.

Bronze 213

Here's the layout for this season. Don't think I'll be able to daily standings, but will be sure to get the final standings posted, and updates when I can. Sorry.

Diamond League

Quite a lopsided start. When the dust settles, I think the Mundys are gonna be tough to beat!

Mevagissey off to a flying start. I think Doug only have 7 games, but will doublecheck before I DNQ them!

I don't think we even need everyone friended for things to work well, just as long as there's plenty of overlapping/crisscrossing. I believe that non-mutual friend listing is what causes the bulk of the problems, and sometimes randomly splits levels into multiple leagues.

You're being kind to the devs. The fix is that the Friends List needs just a little bit of attention, and perhaps a few lines of code. It could easily be a little tighter, and I don't think your filter suggestion is too much of an ask, either. Given the current problems and the new landscape, I can't see any improvement coming.

Bronze 213

Got a few minutes, so here's an early look. Terra Incognita leads the way by sweeping their only OL series. Will try to get another up before Saturday. Bruno hanging in, just outside relegation.

In theory you should only need one team to be your mutual friend to get pulled in with the rest if the mutual team has everyone else at that level friended. That being said there is certainly a flaw in the system as I have been "missed" in previous versions where I have a well maintained friend list, including my second team at the same level and have been off on my own, I even missed the first week out of rookie this go round.

One would think it should be an easy fix, because there is a problem that has been ongoing through the versions of the game. Its one of the reasons I looked into starting and online historical league-but I don't have the time it would take to be the commissioner. I came back to PT because I like the group, not the game itself.

Would it help to standardize the "-OL"? There are several different ways of adding the suffix so you have to search multiple times to try and catch everyone.

If you use "-OL|- OL" you'll get everyone. The much bigger issue is the 30-team friend limit. As teams move up and down the universe, you have to remember to unfriend some and friend others.

That said, this week I had the Detroit Spirits friended (they went to another league), while two teams I hadn't friended ended up in the right league anyway.

I suspect that Detroit gave up before the friends list was even active. They haven't been paired with a single OL team yet.

yeah, I removed Detroit from the online sheet, so you can ignore them when adding OL friends.
