Good luck to everyone in the playoffs! Maybe we'll get some hardware this week.

Well, all three OL Bronze playoff teams fell in their wildcard series. All nine of this weeks bronze teams will return along with Baltimore who will be joining and possibly Long Beach depending on their playoff run in Iron.

Top seeded Magus teams doing what top seeded Magus teams do best in the playoffs.
Fail to show up. Honestly starting to believe the Patriots are destined to not win a league title this cycle. I absolutely despise this game sometimes. Last edited by Magus978; 07-31-2022 at 03:36 PM. |

If it makes you feel any better, deploying a bunch build a lineup cards made my team WAY better in the 2nd half (not good enough to win OL tho). I'm clinging to life in the Gold CS. I don't like it that I had to knock two OL teams off to get here.

It'll Be (Land)Shark Week in Bronze
Except for Aomori again seeking OL's first promotion to Perfect, all team movement is set for 2034, so feel free to check and submit your Friends List. Long Beach, Holy City, and Los Angeles are also still playing in the PT post-season. Good luck to all. Here's the set up:

No reports necessary from me this coming week, as all three of my teams will be in three-team-no-OL-trophy leagues (Iron/Stone), so this a good time to explain why my teams are the way they are (that is, why they lose a lot and are stuck in the lower PT leagues).
After the first few seasons of PT mediocrity, I made the decision before PT23 to greatly simplify my PT life, and have been playing the game a certain way, with very minor exceptions. - Packs only - No tournaments (I've entered a few, if I felt like it) - No mission-chasing. If I end up with the cards to complete a mission, I do, but any cards may or may not end up on my roster. I don't want a roster filled with the same cards cards as everyone else, even if it means I don't win as much. So far my three teams have only completed a total of 44 missions. - No card shop purchasing. So far, I've made only one exception, purchasing SS Bobby Wallace for Fort Davis. (Packs were giving me NO shortstops. It was weird.) - I only sell duplicates or Live perfects. To this point. I was going to sell perfect Walter Johnson, but he has steadily decreased in value and still isn't in a mission. - 40 man rosters. So, basically, I get what I get out of packs, and a very limited number of packs at that. As the records would indicate, 2501-2683 (.482), it's not a very successful way to play. And although winning more would be more enjoyable as well, it's a choice with which I'm comfortable. Just wanted to make it clear that I actually manage these teams, and I constantly tweak the rosters, strategy, and all the other factors, but it probably won't overcome the lack of quality players. So be it. |

There was a time I was grinding missions but that's over and tournament spamming is not for me. I get what I get with packs these days which is not much. Bushwood will still have naked lady tees and bad hats in the pro shop though. |

I am playing much slower. I completed two missions just because they showed as complete and came with packs not a card. I do jump on tournaments when I am around my computer. I made one sweeping change from my original team and otherwise have been selling everything I get unless in the case of live 89's and 99's I hold them and hope for the best on an update. I am just hoarding points until players I like come along somewhere in the cycle.
As I did in the last version I am staying away from the Hank Aaron's and Mike Prior's et al-the only exception would be if it's a player I admired growing up (with no offense intended to those who use them). Last season I grinded more and got bored quick, I am pacing myself to get more out of the game. My 22 teams are still bouncing between silver and gold so if this one bounces between bronze and iron or eventually bronze and silver and I am enjoying it more-so be it. |

Grats to all the champs! Aomori choked in the Diamond WS again, so they'll still be in Diamond next season. I think that gives us 4 teams at that level.

Diamond League
The good news is that the three NC teams have enough games. The bad news is that LA only have four against Aomori.

There will be two OL reps in the weekly PD PTCS for the month of July. Waffletown finished 13th in the rankings for the month, while the Patriots finished 43rd after being in the top 25 most of the month.
