No problem. After posting this, I also noted that Dial only seems to have his 1932 stats, missing 1933 and 1937.

Odd. I'm on the latest patch and I note the 1937 line doesn't perfectly align as OOTP must have loaded him with less data than is available now - but he has all three stat lines that I can see. I manually imported him to check.

You're right. I was looking at the Batting Stats tab rather than the Real Life Stats tab. Should real stats even be showing up there, though? It's going to look odd when I start using him in the game and his stat line jumps from 1932 to 1993...

Well, he'd be 85 years-old in 1993, so I don't think he'll play much - especially if he's been on the bench since '32. ;P

But seriously, did you manually import his '32 self into 1993? If you import him and uncheck the box on the importer to include that year's stats, the 1932 stats won't come in.

Actually, I imported his '33 self into 1993 (the year in which my fictional game is set), and I did not have that box checked. Presumably, that is why his '32 stats are there, but not '33 (or '37)?

Yeah, at that age of import, that was the one year already in his past. Had the box been checked ‘33 would show too. No way at that age of import to get ‘37 to show. So, yes a weird optic, he will have ‘32 then ‘93 stats. It won’t matter in a game sense. Just optics in that year column when you look at his stats.

Makes sense. I'd just never thought about it. When I created the league and imported players en masse, I deleted all the league history, but now I guess every player I import is going to have their individual history while all my OG players start from zero. That's...suboptimal .

Now I see what you are trying to achieve. What you need to do is import the player, let them have all that "up-to" history" but then go to them immediately after import and clone them. Then, delete the original. The clone will have a clean slate. Here is a pic of Boggs the original and Boggs the immediately-cloned. You want the clone in your game, free of their history.

I will try that, thanks. A shame there's no option to import a player without their history from the jump, but this looks like a reasonable workaround.

I just attempted to import Negro Leaguer Lafayette Dumas (MLB dumasla01 / MiLB dumas-000jim), and the program was unable to find him in either the major or minor league database.

I'm correcting his ID but, for now, use dumas049laf which is what is there presently.

Ah, I seem to recall a lot of Negro League players had a *049* ID in earlier versions. I will try those in the future when I come up empty, and (unless forcibly stopped ) continue reporting them, as I have also been doing with incorrect birthplaces like Jerry Lumpe (lumpeje01 / lumpe-001jer) importing with birthplace Lincoln, NE instead of Lincoln, MO...

Odd. There were not two records of him but I think he was being split in two by a misaligned field. We'll see if it corrects in a patch or two, whenever the next db update makes it in. Thanks for calling it out. I'll watch for it.

Vance Wilson appeared in 1 game in 1999. After conducting a search while playing the 1999 season and trying to add him to the Mets roster he was not found in OOTP25. I'm using version 25.2 Build 53 (64 Bit) (Windows).

The database looks fine. That one inning at C is there.

So, I tried a game with real minors and he's on Binghampton in the Mets' minors, so that's fine. Without real minors he doesn't come in until 2000 and he doesn't go to the Mets as he ought (well, technically he should have gone to the Mets in 1999...) but is a Free Agent (this is with import to real team set). So that one fielding record is an issue in 1999. I don't think the game isn't looking to the hard coded "MLB debut year" field anymore but is now looking for stat lines to bring people in and retire them. I think oddities like a debut with only a fielding line might be getting missed. I'll log it.

He comes into the game as "Bill" but should from all reports be known as "John".

A Canadian, his POB is Saint John, New Brunswick.

Comes in with no info for this.
