Los Angeles struggled against Port Ruppert, leaving Shinbone alone at the top.

Waffletown won a game! Oh yeah, and Aomori still with a comfy lead in OL standings. |

Claptown are still holding a decent lead, but it could easily go up in smoke over the final month. Coney Island play six against Aceldama, Claptown play three each against Eden Prairie and Mevagissey.

Shinbone has a clear path to victory, with just six games remaining, all against Greenland, whom they've dominated. Port Ruppert's only hope is a sweep of Waxhaw, and an abundance of help from the woeful Seals.

6 OL games remain to play, but it's a foregone conclusion as to the final standings. Even if Mount Hawke sweeps their final 6 games (3 with Aomori; 3 with Waffletown) it would still leave them in second place. Overall, Aomori fighting for a wild card spot. Mount Hawke 6 games out of a WC; and Waffletown buried in the relegation zone (only a minor miracle keeps them at Diamond tier next season) |

Auckland takes the lead in OL I177. The Athletics are looking to stop their slide from Gold level. Meanwhile, Bruno and New Zealand are in the relegation zone. |

Brooklyn pulled a Platinum 3 Babe Ruth and sold him immediately for 1.9 million. Reinforcements are coming to get them out of iron for good.

Claptown went 4-2 to maintain their winning percentage, keeping them just clear to claim the crown. Coney Island kept the pressure up by also going 4-2, and Mevagissey applied some pressure of their own with a stonking 10-3 finish.
Claptown go into the playoffs as the top seed, with Columbia, Coney Island, and Mevagissey all getting in as wildcards. (If the Nashville Stars do a number on my teams later, I may well go apoplectic!) Eden Prairie were very unfortunate this week. Claptown and Mevagissey both improved substantially over the last few days, and Mevagissey battered them 9-1 in the final month. Aceldama will join them in Bronze next week. |

Remember what happened to the Red Sox when they sold the Babe to the Yankees? Although I hear the play he financed was a hit. |

Shinbone continued to bludgeon hapless Greenland en route to an easy cruise to the crown. I think the illogical AI screwed Waxhaw of a division title, as the Wayvern fell to Port Ruppert in a one-game play-off. Why not just use head-to-head for the season to break the tie? They were each going to host a wild card series anyway. Seems a waste of time to play a game that has no effect on a team's finish. It does, however, conform to the level of scheduling adroitness PT has shown thus far. Ah well. The Seals will put at least one level between themselves and the Stars by retreating to Silver.

Aomori had little challenge this season in OL play with both Mount Hawke and Waffletown finshing sub-500. Overall, Aomori will be the lone OL rep in the post season with a wild card spot. Waffletown made an unusual surge down the stretch, going 16-11 in September, but still finished a few games short of escaping the relegation zone; so it's a trip back to Gold |

Bronze 215
Grovers Mill Invaders took the title by virtue of their dominance over their only OL opponent, Long Beach, but was the only OL team to not make the playoffs. However, in a strange scenario, their overall record was much worse as they are relegated to iron. Doug Outs has made it to the semifinals and will be promoted to Silver.

If we don't see iron standings when the playoffs end, I'll attempt to compile them.

Despite my WC opponent outsmarting himself by using an opener in game 2, he eked out two one-run wins in two very close games. We're in Diamond again next season.

Set Up for 2045
There are thirteen teams on the move next season, so check your lists carefully, choose use Friends, and submit. There are still six OL teams in the hunt for PT titles - Los Angeles in Gold, Claptown and Columbia in Silver, Doug in Bronze, and Belo Horizonte and Brooklyn in Iron. Good luck to all. Teams moving are bold-faced.
Diamond - Mount Hawke, Aomori, Los Angeles Gold - Bushwood, Waffletown, Waxhaw, Port Ruppert, Claptown, Columbia, Shinbone Silver - Greenland, Terra Incognita, North Bay, Coney Island, Mevagissey, Doug Bronze - Eden Prairie, Aceldama, Long Beach,l Baltimore, SaukCentre, Brooklyn, Belo Horizonte Iron - Grovers Mill, London, Savannah, Fort Davis, Bordeaux, Daytona Beach, Colorado Springs, Auckland Stone - New Zealand, Bruno, Card Era, Austin Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 10-16-2022 at 05:21 PM. |
