Bethalto 4, Bunker Hill 3 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

We tied it up twice late, but came up short in extra innings. For Bethalto, starter Ronald Peters had a very nice start (7 IP, 1 ER) and deserved the win, but we got to their bullpen as soon as he left. We tied it up 2-2 in the 8th with three straight singles and catcher Ray Monroe doubled in a run for us to tie it at 3-3 in the 9th off of Bethalto closer Quinn Kitchener. Quinn would get the last laugh however. He pitched a scoreless 10th and came up to bat in the bottom of the 10th with the bases packed and one out. Bethalto was out of position players so couldn't pinch hit. Kitchener drove a 2-1 pitch out to right for a walk-off single! Very frustrating to get beaten by a team's closer like that!
