May 11, 1950 (Thursday) - Philadelphia, PA
W/L record 12-13 (.480), 5th place, 3.5 GB, Streak L1, Last10 5-5
Behind the bat of Hank Bauer and solid relief pitching, the Cleveland Indians defeated the Philadelphia Athletics yesterday by the score of 5-2, preventing a sweep.

Indians RF Hank Bauer
Bauer went three for five driving in all five Cleveland runs. Both home runs were off A's starter Alex Kellner (2-4), who pitched well, but gave up the decisive three-run blow in the ninth inning.
Cleveland's starting pitcher Bob Feller left the game after the second inning due to recurring back stiffness. Though the A's managed to tie the game at 2 in the seventh, the Indians bullpen held back multiple rallies with Al Benton getting his second save on the year. The A's stranded eleven on the day.
The Athletics head on the road starting a three game stand at New York tomorrow night. During this last home stand, the A's went 5-5.
The Yankees are sixth place in the American League at 11-13, possessing a 7-8 record at their home park.
