WBL 2039: Spring Training.
9-13. Ouch.
First thing I did was evaluate my foreign players. Berlin had a lot of dead wood non german ranks. I cleared out some overseas players on low contracts for Germans to make some space (Why would you have a guy on 1mil year in a precious spot?), and replaced them with quality players. Catcher was difficult, I had to grab two local lads who could barely swing a bat, but they put the pads on and could catch so that was enough. Short was a troubling position but I ironed it out by grabbing a utility infielder from the reserves, and luckily didn't need to go to the local park like catcher!
I found two gems in the reserves who could get a game because of nationality restrictions, needless to say they are now a part of my long term plans: Mitch Hanson, solid all round outfielder, and Ricardo Miranda, contact hitting CF.
The pitching staff is lacking a star starter, but I have a few quality short men which will do for now.
Now for the heroes of the piece. Aside from the two mentioned before the star of the team is the power hitting first basemen, Greg Reilly.
