W/L record 12-14 (.462), 6th place, 4.0 GB, Streak L2, Last10 5-5

RF Tommy Henrich
The Athletics gave up four home runs to the New York Yankees last night in a 12-3 beating at Yankees stadium. Yankees Tommy Henrich hit two on the night, one of which a grand slam in the sixth inning off reliever Hank Wyse. The blast was the Yankees highlight, giving them a commanding 9-3 lead. The Yankee right fielder went three for four driving in eight runs.
Joe DiMaggio hit a three run shot off starter Lou Brissie (2-4) in the first inning, and Yankee starting pitcher Ed Lopat (4-2) helped his own cause, stroking a four-bagger in the second inning.
Lopat struggled with control early on, but settled down while going the distance giving up only three earned runs. The lefty was also helped by outstanding offensive plays behind him, as the Athletics did manage to hit some loud outs.

Rumors have been confirmed that the Athletics are dealing outfielder Barney McCoskey. The 33 year-old has been vocal about his limited play this season.
