• Hitting coach Jay Bell and Team Trainer Todd Tomczyk have decided to part ways with the team.

• I put a lot of effort into trying to bring Jay Bell back as he is a Pittsburgh favorite and I liked his approach. However, Jay has no interest in returning. He would like to spend some time with his family and then evaluate his career as a major league coach. Good luck Jay.

Moises Alou, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Mike Mussina and Frank Thomas were all elected to have plaques placed in Cooperstown. Some interesting choices. I don't see Moises or Mussina getting there in real life any time soon but I always forget to higher the standards for hall of fame election when I start a dynasty, oh well.

Well, Sandy Alomar Sr. has officially retired and I have been announced as GM of my home town team. The following moves were pretty easy but in italics I'll explain a little bit of my reasoning in the decision process.

The San Francisco Giants beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4 games to 2 to claim their second consecutive world title and their third in four years. Buster Posey earned series MVP honors hitting .273 with a HR and 7 RBI's. This is the 3rd Championship for the 26 year old catcher and his first WS MVP honor.
