Introducing the International Baseball League

The International Baseball League was formed in 2009, filling the void left by Major League Baseball's 2008 demise. The league contains teams on 5 of the 7 continents. In the 2009 season, the league opened with 30 teams, under the same format that the late Major League Baseball used. Prior to the 2024 season, the league expanded to 34 teams, adding 2 teams in each league. Teams are divided by geographic region.
